2019 BMW S 1000 RR patent image and specifications leaked

KUALA LUMPUR: We all know that BMW Motorrad is busy working on the 2019 BMW S 1000 RR. However, the popping up of the official patent image and full specification sheet of the superbike on the internet is what took everyone by surprise. The official revelation of the motorcycle is yet to happen at the EICMA 2018 very soon.

The sub-standard image quality points to the fact that the snapshot might have been captured from a brochure. Nevertheless, the image and spec data sheet showcased some promising aspects of this superbike clearly. It will be powered by a 999 cc, inline-four, water-cooled mill designed using BMW ShiftCam technology and features four titanium valves per cylinder. The spec sheet reads that the bike will generate a maximum power of 207 hp at 13,500 RPM and deliver a maximum torque of 113 Nm at 11,000 RPM.

The total road-ready and fully-fuelled weight reads 197 kg, which goes down to 193.5 for the M Package. The bodywork has been done from scratch as is by leaked image. The swingarm is found projecting in a horizontal fashion above the engine casings prior to mounting upright to the headstock. A visible steel trellis section designed for the rider seat subframe bears a surprising resemblance with that of the MV Agusta, KTM, etc. It will have LED units for the headlights, rear light, and turn signal. Black color has been used finely on different areas of this superbike to enhance its visually appealing triple-tone theme further.

As standard equipment, the spec sheet available online says the 2019 BMW S 1000 RR will come with 4 riding modes - Race, Dynamic, Road, and Rain. The bike will feature ABS Pro, BMW Motorrad Race ABS, Shift Assist Pro, DTC, HSC, etc.

A lot of useful and attractive accessories will be available on an optional basis, including BMW M-branded footrests, brake-clutch levers, windshield bubble tinted, Datalogger and Laptrigger, calibration kit, etc. Further updates will be officially given soon at the 2018 EICMA.
