2021 WMoto RT3 - First impression

Considered as a staple means of transportation, small-displacement scooters are all the rage in the Malaysian market. There are quite a number of options available in the region, the latest one being the WMoto RT3. The MForce Bike Holdings’s home brand WMoto has recently introduced this brand new model for maxi-scooter fans in Malaysia, that has various advanced features meeting all the needs of modern-day customers. Here, we bring the first impression of the new star in town, let's have a look.

WMoto RT3 Design

The maxi-scooter boasts a striking design suitable for everyday driving. It poses a stylish appearance with the modern design language and parts trimmed with carbon fibre. At the front, it gets a daytime running lamp using LED technology for a longer lifespan, which is teamed up with an arrow-shaped LED tail light. 

The side mirrors of the scooter are designed in a way to ensure that there is no damage while parking. The WMoto RT3 rides on a 15-inch front wheel wrapped with 120.70 type along with a 14-inch rear wheel shod with 140/60 unit.

For the instrument panel, the RT3 speedometer LCD display has a combination of digital and analogue forms instead of a TFT technology. Customers can choose from the available six color options for the display - red, purple, orange, blue, yellow, and white.

WMoto RT3 Engine specifications

Powering the new WMoto RT3 is a 247 cc, liquid-cooled single-pot, EFI Fuel Injection, 4 Stroke, DOHC engine, which churns out a maximum power of 23 hp at 8,000 rpm and 22.5 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) system and belt final drive sending power to the ground. Like other present-day scooters, the RT3’s engine also has Euro 4 emission standard recognition. The fuel tank measures 17 litres that is quite suitable for longer journeys.

WMoto RT3 Features

  • Keyless ignition: This intelligent key system easily turns on or off the engine, opens storage space, and fuel tank without the key. The automaker claims that It is more convenient and safer.
  • Under-seat compartment: The WMoto RT3 has ample storage space under the seat, where one can store a helmet, raincoat, and other personal items. The compartment also has LED lights that illuminate the space in the dark environment.
  • USB ports: The scooter comes equipped with two USB charging ports located in the front storage compartment. This means riders can charge two phones simultaneously. 
  • Blue backlight: The scooter also has a blue backlight on each control button located on either side of the handlebars that work as indicators for the driver.

  • Anti-slip seat cover: For rider’s safety, the scooter is fitted with a non-slip seat cover preventing riders from sliding forward during the brake. Moreover, a sporty portable frame grip is also mounted on the WMoto RT3.
  • Adjustable brake levers: for extra comfort, the automaker has also provided an adjustable brake lever that the rider can adjust according to its preference.

WMoto RT3 Suspension and braking

Manufactured by MForce Bike Holdings, the 2021 WMoto RT3 suspension system features a telescopic-type suspension at the front and adjustable dual shock absorbers at the rear. As for braking, it equips front and rear disc brakes that have a high-quality Bosch anti-lock braking system.

WMoto RT3 Price

The WMoto RT3 price for the sole variant starts at RM 15,188 (without road tax, insurance, and registration). Included in the price is a warranty of two years or 20,000 kilometres (whichever comes first).  It is now available at all MForce authorized dealers in the country with three exclusive color choices - Matte Gray, Glittery Blue, and Red.
