BMW R 1300 GS gets an update in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: First introduced in 2024, the BMW R 1300 GS has received an update in the Malaysian market. The adventure touring motorcycle now comes with the Adaptive Height Control system as a standard fitment, enhancing the overall ergonomics and rider-focused functionality of the bike.

Notably, the new feature is available for the Triple Black and GS Trophy variants of the bike. Let’s dive deeper to know how the Adaptive Height Control works.

Adaptive Height Control - How does it work?

The system supplements everyday rideability by intelligently adjusting the bike’s suspension based on movement. The scenarios are as follows - 

• At low speeds or when stationary, It lowers the two-wheeler’s height for improved ground accessibility and the rider’s convenience.
• When speed increases: The system automatically raises the chassis to the standard ride height for optimal ground clearance, ergonomics and handling. 

This seamless adjustment offers greater riding comfort, control, and safety across diverse riding conditions, without compromising on the core performance of the bike.

Alongside the upgraded suspension system, BMW Motorrad Malaysia also introduced a refreshed design and equipment touches to enhance the visual appeal of the R 1300 GS. At the core lies the same 1300-cc two-cylinder Boxer engine, which features BMW Shift Cam variable valve actuation. Paired with a six-speed gearbox, the engine generates a maximum power of 145 hp at 7,750 rpm and a peak torque of 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

The 2025 BMW R 1300 GS is priced at RM 140,500 (on the road, without insurance) in Malaysia. With BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia’s Easy Drive Financing Plan, the monthly instalment starts from RM 1,968 (90% loan on a 7-Year tenure).

With the rollout of the new BMW R 1300 GS, the automaker continues to push the boundaries for performance, handling, and adventure capability in the segment.
