SoloEra Solo 2 launched in Malaysia with swappable LFP battery tech

KUALA LUMPUR: Blueshark Malaysia has expanded the lineup of its sub-brand, SoloEra, with the launch of the Solo 2. The new model joins the Solo 1C, which was introduced in July this year.

Designed for urban mobility, the SoloEra Solo 2 is an electric scooter that features rugged dynamics, intelligent features, and advanced swappable LFP battery technology.

SoloEra Solo 2: Price

The SoloEra Solo 2 is affordably priced at RM 6,399 (excluding registration and insurance) in Malaysia, allowing customers to easily opt for an eco-friendly ride. 

The automaker has also announced a special Early-Bird promotional price of RM 5,599 for the first 50 customers who pre-order the SoloEra Solo 2. To sweeten the deal further, early adopters will also receive a free Blueshark helmet.

The e-scooter is offered with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, which includes -

• Five-year dual battery rental agreement at only RM 99 per month
• Connectivity pack at RM 10 per month

• Stardust Blue
• Eclipse Gold
• Orion Grey

SoloEra Solo 2: Dimensions 

Dimension-wise, the SoloEra Solo 2 measures 2.080 mm in length, 780 mm in width and 1,150 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 1,490 mm. With a ground clearance of 160 mm, the seat height is measured at 760 mm. The EV weighs 132 kg and rides on 16-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels wrapped with 100/80 tyres.

SoloEra Solo 2: Drivetrain, range and charging

The EV comes equipped with a 4.0 kW rear wheel hub-motor that delivers a 0-50 kmph acceleration time of 7.2 seconds and a top speed of 95 kmph. There are two LFP-type battery packs, capable of providing a maximum NEDC range of up to 140 km.

The SoloEra Solo 2 can potentially reduce CO2 emissions by up to 3,500 kg per year (or an estimated 90 per cent lower annual CO2 output compared to conventional 150-cc engines).

The batteries can be recharged via any standard 3-pin socket, with battery swapping tech available from the end of 2025
