Yadea RS20 e-scooter launched in Malaysia with water-resistant capabilities

KUALA LUMPUR: The Chinese brand Yadea is a well-known name in the electric two-wheeler industry with a presence in over 83 countries, including Malaysia, where it is taken care of by MForce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd. The company recently introduced yet another Yadea EV, the RS20, to further strengthen the brand’s presence in the local market.

The Yadea RS20 is an affordable battery-operated scooter that features an elegant yet modern design, a generous range, and smart features, perfect for city commuters in Malaysia.

Price and colours

This new Chinese e-scooter is priced at RM 4,998 (excluding road tax, insurance or registration). Notably, the Yadea RS20 is eligible for a tax rebate under the MARiiCAS initiative.

Design 

The Yadea RS20 boasts a distinctive European vintage design with a rounded and full side silhouette and a sleek fastback design, exuding an elegant and classic aura. It is available in three striking colour options - Khaki Grey, Roman Grey, and Grey.

Power, range, and charging time

At the core of the new Yadea e-scooter lies a 2.45 kW motor that offers a maximum torque of 107 Nm and a top speed of 50 kmph. The e-motor is paired with a 72-Volt 22 Ah battery, offering a driving range of up to 105 km. Speaking of charging, the battery takes approximately eight hours to reach an 80% state of charge.

The Yadea RS20 is a monsoon-ready e-scooter as its motor and battery have an IPX7 rating, meaning they are water-resistant to a specific standard. With a fully enclosed chassis and a 300 mm wading depth, it can withstand local weather conditions.

The Yadea RS20 is now available at all authorised MForce Bike Holdings dealerships across the country. Each purchase is accompanied by a two-year or 20,000 km manufacturing warranty, with spare parts available through MForce Bike Holdings’ online portal.
