2018 Lexus ES Images Revealed; Detailed Unveil At Beijing Motor Show

ABU DHABI: The luxury car division of Toyota, Lexus, has recently revealed the full front-end of the 2018 Lexus ES. While the company hasn’t revealed any of the specs yet, the detailed unveiled would follow up at the Beijing Motor Show on April 25, 2018.

There is a possibility that the seventh generation Lexus ES might be riding on Toyota’s latest modular platform that is being tagged as TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture), which is a modular unibody vehicle platform. This model is believed to have underpinned several present Toyota cars.

From the images previewed, it could be guessed that the car will share a few similar designing elements with the full-sized sibling, the Lexus LS, which is the chief model in the lineup as of now. It looks slightly like LS, barring the roundedness. And looking at the revealed images, we can say that the big-sized spindle grille is bolder now and has the prominent "waterfall” grille slats design.

The headlamps of the 2018 Lexus ES look quite sharp and trendy with slim L-shaped DRLs running under them. Along the side, the extended shallow roofline looks curvy and estate-like and the prominent flanks and sharp lines along the shoulder impart a muscular look to the car. And though the company has not revealed any direct image of the rear end, a slight glimpse shows how sleek the tail lights are.

As mentioned earlier, the company has not revealed any technical details or engine specifications yet. However, if we consider the seventh generation Lexus ES to have the TNGA platform from the Avalon, we can expect it to have a similar engine as well. If this is to be true, we might get the 3.5-litre, V6 motor paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, alongside a 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid engine.

The 2018 Lexus ES does look sleek and curvaceous at the first impression. Plus, it is believed to get premium features as well. However, all of it could only be confirmed after the showcase at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show.
