New reserve parking bays introduced by BMW Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: In partnership with Shell, BMW Malaysia has introduced new Reserve + Shell Recharge Bays. The said parking bays were launched today at the Sunway Pyramid mall and are a part of automakers ongoing efforts to promote and support e-mobility in the country. As quick access to such facilities would play a vital role in making the shift towards Visionary Mobility possible.

In total BMW and Shell has introduced ten charging bays that are present across three Sunway Group properties. Two bays are present in Sunway Velocity, three are installed in Sunway Pinnacle, and five can be found in Sunway Pyramid. Overall, Shell Malaysia has also played a significant role in expanding the ParkEasy setup, and both the companies are looking forward to introducing more such bays at progressive shopping malls.

From July onwards, BMW would be offering exclusive ‘BMW Privileges’ to the owners of BMW Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) who’ll be visiting the Reverse + Shell Recharge Bays. It would include -

• E-gift card for existing BMW PHEV owners
• E-starter pack for new BMW PHEV owners
• BMWMY promo code to redeem 5 PrakEasy credits (available from 13th to 31st July)

“We developed ParkEasy as means of increasing parking efficiency and reduce the time spent looking around for a parking spot. When the opportunity to collaborate surfaced with Shell Malaysia, who then partnered us with BMW Group Malaysia and Sunway Group, we took the chance knowing full well that ParkEasy can successfully facilitate and enhance the charging behaviors of PHEV drivers in Malaysia with our parking reservation service. Further easing the process for the users is the ParkEasy there is also a mobile application that allows owners of PHEV and EV to reserve a parking spot at the Reserve + Shell Recharge Bays for up to 60 mins. BMW has powered the parking bays i Charging facilities using which the owners can replenish their vehicle.
