2025 Kawasaki KLX230 and KLX230SM now in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn. Bhd. (MODENAS) has launched two new exciting Kawasaki bikes in Malaysia - the 2025 Kawasaki KLX230 and the 2025 Kawasaki KLX230SM. The prices are as follows -

Both models share the same steel perimeter frame and 233-cc single-cylinder engine; however, what makes them different are their wheels, suspension, tyres, and riding purpose. Let’s check them out one by one.

2025 Kawasaki KLX230: Key highlights

• The Kawasaki KLX230 is a dual-sport bike, which is designed for trails, dirt riding, and light on-road use. 
• Sprayed with Lime Green hue, the bike has a rugged, adventure-inspired look with a taller stance and high ground clearance. 

• It rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels, wrapped with off-road tyres for better grip on uneven terrains.
• Tuned for off-road riding, the bike features 37 mm diameter upside-down forks with 200 mm of suspension travel at the front and a monoshock preload-adjustable setup at the rear, giving 223 mm of travel.
• Handling the braking duties is a single 265 mm brake disc with dual-piston calliper at the front and a single 220 mm disc with single-piston calliper at the rear. 
• At the heart lies a 233-cc air-cooled, SOHC, single-cylinder engine, which churns out a maximum power of 13.2 kW at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 18 Nm at 6,400 rpm. Power is sent to the wheels via a six-speed gearbox and chain final drive system.
• Other key highlights include a monochrome LCD screen with Kawasaki’s Smart Connectivity, a 7.6-litre fuel tank, low seat modes, ABS, and an electric start system.

2025 Kawasaki KLX230SM: Key highlights 

• The KLX230SM is a supermoto bike, tuned more for city and street riding.
• Available in a Battle Grey/Ebony/Black shade, the bike boasts a sharp front owl design and a two-tone flat seat, making it look sportier and premium.
• It stands on 17-inch wheels wrapped with street-oriented 110/70 front and 120/70 rear tyres.
• The suspension is tuned for pavement that ideally suits street riding. It comprises 37 mm upside-down forks at the front, with 188 mm of suspension travel and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock that has 223 mm of travel.
• The braking setup includes a 300 mm front disc with dual-piston calliper and a 220 mm rear disc, complemented by ABS.
• The engine and gearbox setup remains the same as the Kawasaki KLX230.
• Other key highlights include a monochrome LCD screen with Kawasaki’s Smart Connectivity, a 7.6-litre fuel tank, and an electric start system.

The new Kawasaki KLX230 and KLX230SM bikes are now available at all Kawasaki All Star dealerships nationwide.
