KTM-owned GasGas launches its first on-road bikes ever

KUALA LUMPUR: For those who aren't aware, GasGas is a Spanish off-road motorcycle manufacturer that, in 2019, was acquired by the Austrian brand KTM. The off-road specialist has an enviable name and reputation for its Trail, Supermoto, and Enduro motorcycles, and now it is entering into new ventures, thanks to its owner, KTM. Under the latter's supervision, GasGas has unveiled its first set of on-road bikes in its 37-years of history.

Called the ES 700 and SM 700, these new inclusions mark a significant shift in the GasGas brand philosophy. These new distinct, high-performance, reliable bikes surely reflect the company's Spanish heritage and fun-loving personality, encouraging every rider to GET ON THE GAS!

Key highlights of the GasGas SM 700 and ES 700 -

• While the all-new SM 700 is a big-bore Supermoto, the ES 700 is a dual-sport motorcycle
• Both the GasGas first ever on-road bikes benefit from an agile and high-performance base that delivers the best handling

• The chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame weights less and ensures straight-line stability and razor-sharp cornering
• These super singles get a die-cast aluminium swingarm offering just the right amount of flex for an unrestricted flow of power to the ground
• The centre of gravity is very low, thanks to the polyamide subframe with a 13.5-litre integrated fuel tank
• Ensuring total control and stability are present with the latest Bosch ABS system and PASC slipper clutch

• Precise throttle response is given thanks to the state-of-the-art electronics
• An integrated quick-shifter assures smoothing shifting of the six-speed gearbox
• Pure driving pleasure both on- and off-road comes from the bike's advanced Ride Modes and latest EURO 5 compliant exhaust systems

Powertrain

Both the ES 700 and SM 700 are powered by KTM's signature 692 cc big-bore single-cylinder mill that generates a maximum power of 74 hp at 8,000 rpm along with serious torque numbers.

Availability

The availability of the new GasGas SM 700 and ES 700 will differ from country to country. They will come with a complete range of Technical Accessories and Apparel Making customisation options.
