Yamaha FJR1300 20th Anniversary Edition revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: Yamaha says goodbye to the FJR1300 with a special 20th Anniversary edition that will make its final appearance in Japan.

As per Young Machine, a Japanese publication, the special edition FJR1300 is scheduled to arrive at authorized Yamaha Japan dealerships early next year, i.e., 10th February 2022.

It was in 2019 that the European market bid farewell to the FJR1300 via a special Ultimate Edition.

What does the special edition sports tourer offer?

The special edition FJR1300 is a stylish-looking motorcycle that’s sprayed in black with gold accents. The bike also features a special gold FJR 20th Anniversary Edition emblem that rests on top of the fuel tank. Also, announcing its arrival is a gold FJR logo sitting next to the saddle.

Furthermore, like the 2019 Ultimate Edition, the Japanese-spec FJR1300 special edition only limits itself to cosmetic revisions, the mechanical aspects remain unchanged.

The Yamaha FJR1300 is available in two trim options - A and AS with the latter fitted with electronic suspension.

Engine details?

Powering the 20th Anniversary FJR1300 edition is a 1,298 cc transverse inline-four mill that pumps out a maximum power output of 144 hp at 8,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 134.4 Nm at 7,000 rpm.

Price?

The Japan-limited FJR1300 special edition is priced at JPY 1.98 million (approx. RM 72k).
