Citroen C4 Picasso

Just like on the outside, the interior of the Citroen C4 Picasso looks quite unique and has a futuristic appeal to it. The steering wheel looks too busy, thanks to the large center boss which is cluttered with buttons all around its thick spokes.

The fully digital instrument console is positioned at the centre of the dashboard, making it look cool and unconventional at the same time. The centre console gets a small touchscreen music system, which comes with all the modern smartphone connectivity options on board. The AC vents are quite sleek in design as well. The overall dashboard has got dual tone black and beige theme and the right amount of chrome garnishes at places.

The strongest point of the Citroen C4 Picasso, however, is the amount of space on the inside. While the side glass areas make the interior cabin feel airy, the amount of knee- and head-room in all the three rows and boot space is clearly unmatched in the segment.

Citroen should be praised for making the C4 Picasso a unique looking vehicle. It is a blend of an MPV and hatchback. However, this very recipe is quite polarizing, as while it makes it look distinctive. The overall styling is quite odd in some places.

At the front, the Citroen C4 Picasso has a very sleek two-slat grille, with the Citroen’s trademark upward arrow moniker at the centre. The grille extends till thin daytime running LEDs, below which are positioned the main headlamp assembly. The fog lamps are positioned even lower, at the bottom corners of the front bumper.

On the side, the Citroen C4 Picasso has got odd looking glass area. The front and rear quarter glasses being large enough to give it a silhouette of an MPV. While the glasses do make the C4 Picasso appear large from the side, it slightly disturbs the overall proportions of the vehicle. The door mounted outside rearview mirrors, as well as alloy wheels, showcase a futuristic design.

At the rear, the visual drama dilutes a bit with two large and simply styled tail lamps and license plate space.  Due to the large quarter glasses, the Citroen C4 Picasso has got a floating roof effect.

Giving the Citroen C4 Picasso a tremendous and comfortable ride quality is a suspension setup of Macpherson struts at the front and a flexible transverse beam at the rear. The overall suspension is set on a softer side, thus making the Citroen C4 Picasso a very comfortable vehicle meant for long distances.

Talking about the engine options, the Citroen C4 Picasso has got two different powerhouses on offer. The petrol engine is a 1.6-litre turbocharged unit, which pumps out 165 PS of maximum power and 240 Nm of peak torque output. The 2.0-litre diesel engine, on the other hand, generates 150 PS of power and 370 Nm of torque. Both these engines transfer the power to front wheels via a common 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The Citroen C4 Picasso has an unmistakable design, which might not appeal to everyone. However, it has a very unique stance which does turn some heads on the roads. In short, love it or hate it, but you can’t ignore it. The space on the inside is humongous, while at the same time, the interior cabin looks as if it belongs to the future.
