Recent Updates of Toyota Majesty

The Toyota Majesty is a much-awaited vehicle in its segment. The updates version was introduced last year in Thailand with speculations suggesting its arrival in Malaysia as well. The vehicle is equipped with a turbocharged 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine which produces 177 PS maximum power and 470 Nm peak torque. The motor is paired with a 6-speed automatic. The vehicle runs on 20-inch alloy wheels. Major features include chrome exterior bits, power-sliding doors, LED headlamps and taillights, 7.0-inch head unit, 12-speaker sound system, leather upholstery, nine airbags, adaptive cruise control, and a full suite of Toyota Safety Sense active systems.

Toyota Majesty Review 2025

The Toyota Majesty is a mid-luxury van based on the popular Hiace platform of people movers. Sharing its underpinnings with the Hiace, the Toyota Majesty comes equipped with luxury MPV-like aesthetics and features, which make it the most desirable and premium vehicle among the vehicles derived from the Hiace platform. In the Malaysian car market, the Toyota Majesty is being offered in a single, fully-loaded Grande variant with two colour options – White Pearl and Black Mica.

Toyota Majesty Interior & Features

The all-black cabin of the Toyota Majesty is easily the most premium and luxurious looking among all the vehicles based on the Hiace platform. The dashboard of the Toyota Majesty has a lot of rectangular effects in the design of the elements, with it getting faux wood elements that also stretch to the door panels. The Black Mica colour option is also available with dual-tone black and beige leather upholstery, which looks even more premium and richer in overall feel.

The multi-functional tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel and the Optitron instrument console with a central TFT MID and analogue gauges have been shared here with the Fortuner SUV from Toyota. While the corners of the dashboard come with square-shaped AC vents with cup holders below them, the centre console has a touchscreen infotainment system flanked by rectangular AC vents, while having a rectangular panel for the climate control below it.

The lower centre console has an asymmetric trapezoidal design, with the transmission lever mounted on its right part. The Toyota Majesty offers a lot of convenience and practicality with the kind of features it gets in the cabin, such as rear sun blinds, captain seats in the second and third rows with leg rests, cup holders and tables, powered driver’s seat, 12-speaker audio system, USB charging ports in all the three rows, roof-mounted controller for temperature and AC vents, and more.

Majesty Exterior

Given that the Toyota Majesty is based on the Hiace platform, it shares its boxy profile with the people mover. However, Toyota has given it a shot of desirability by tweaking the exterior profile with premium elements like chrome, alloy wheels and more. These changes do make the Majesty a more premium-looking van with a touch of elegance.

At the front, the Toyota Majesty has a chrome-laden fascia, while the MPV has a short bonnet and wide grille, the latter of which gets a heavy dose of chrome. For its grille, the Majesty has a thick chrome slat at the top, followed by three additional thinner slats of chrome below it, forming a trapezoidal grille.

There is a stretched U-shaped chrome element, that emerges from the lower inner edges of the headlamps and flows towards the lower part of the grille. The angular headlamps here have all-LED treatment, and are complete with daytime running LEDs and V-shaped chrome elements over the upper and outer edges. The Toyota Majesty also gets small trapezoidal housings for the fog lamps, which have chrome surrounds and are connected by a thin strip of chrome.

The Toyota Majesty retains the boxy side profile of the Hiace van, with this premium MPV from Toyota having 17-inch multi-spoke machined alloy wheels that give it a premium stance. The side profile also exhibits the premium appeal of the Majesty, with chrome garnish over the outer door handles and outside rearview mirrors, in addition to a thin strip of chrome flowing sideways through the door panels.

The rear profile of the Toyota Majesty looks functional and boxy too, with the upper half covered by a large rectangular windscreen. The lower half of the Toyota Majesty, which is covered by the boot lid, has a central license plate housing flanked by inverted L chrome garnishes that merge with the L-shaped LED tail lamps on the outer edges.

Toyota Majesty Ride & Handling

The Toyota Majesty gets a more sophisticated suspension setup – Macpherson struts at the front and four-link coil suspension with stabilizers at both ends – compared to other relatively utilitarian versions of the Hiace. With this plusher suspension setup, the Toyota Majesty feels more polished to drive and be driven, with more comfort at all speeds and tarmacs. However, the boxy profile does give it a slight body roll, which is prominent while driving at triple-digit speeds.

Majesty Engine & Fuel Consumption

Powering the Toyota Majesty is a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which also powers the other versions of Hiace and a few other Toyota’s ladder-on-frame products. Here in the Majesty, this engine is being offered with a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard, and claims to deliver a maximum power output of 163 PS and a peak torque output of 420 Nm.

Toyota Majesty Braking & Safety

The Toyota Majesty is decently packed with several modern safety features like nine airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, vehicle stability control, traction control, auto limited slip differential, hill start assist, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, reverse camera, tyre pressure monitoring system and ISOFIX mounts for child seats. However, it also gets more sophisticated and advanced driver assistance functions like blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, pre-collision system, auto high beam, lane departure alert, vehicle sway warning, panoramic view monitor, and digital video recorder.

Majesty Verdict

The Toyota Majesty retains all the positives of the Hiace platform, such as a durable engine, reliability, and trusted brand image, while offering an added touch of premiumness and more comfort and features on board, making it the most desirable van on that platform.
