Aston Martin V12 Vantage V600 unveiled

KUALA LUMPUR: It was a good day for all automobile enthusiasts in Malaysia when Aston Martin, the famed British giant of luxury sports cars announced that it is working on a range of 14 Aston Martin V12 Vantage V600. What makes this news interesting is the fact that this run of 14 cars is influenced by the first v600 Le Mans launched in the 90s, the world’s most powerful car at that time.

Moreover, the 2018 Aston Martin Vantage V12 V600 is supposed to have a restricted manufacturing run of only 7 coupes and 7 roadsters for all 14 models of the Vantage V12 V600. Interestingly, this much-awaited car will be built by hand and will be the last that we see of the ‘VH’ Gaydon two-door sports cars.

If we talk about the technical specifications, the car is expected to have a naturally aspirated V12 5.0-litre engine that would make 592 bhp of maximum power and is coupled with a 7-speed manual transmission.  This reflects similarities with the last generation of VH-based Vantage cars. The first car got commissioned by a buyer, who then permitted the automaker to start building a small run for the model.

This Vantage V600’s are speculated to have a body of carbon fiber with new sides, strakes and a protruding bonnet. In the front is a darkened grille, that reflects the 90's model. The inside reflects a continuing trend of lightweight seats and a center console made of carbon fiber.  The quad exhaust outlets are framed by a new carbon-fiber rear diffuser, and a set of center-locking machined alloy wheels complete the look.

While no performance figures have been announced by Aston Martin, the last V12 Vantage was able to clock 0-100 kmph mark in 3.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 330 kmph.

These cars are known in the internal team as ‘Triple-v’. These 14 Aston Martin V12 Vantage V600s are going to be produced on a near-bespoke basis. They will all be personalised by the brand’s service ‘Q by Aston Martin’ after a customer commission.

First deliveries of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage V600 will commence in the third quarter of 2018. It's available to order now, and the prices are available on application.
