Say hello to the Honda Monkey X Hot Wheels Limited Edition

KUALA LUMPUR: As there is no shortage of special edition models of the immensely popular Honda Monkey bike, one more has been added to the list. It is the Hot Wheels X Monkey Limited Edition that can bring your inner child out. Made in association with Hot Wheels die-cast miniature car brand, the bike will be exclusively available in Thailand with a limited quantity of just 150 units. Each unit will bear a serial number.

Honda’s Cub House, located in Bangkok will sell the Hot Wheels Monkey at a price tag of THB 139,000 (approximately RM 17,887). The Cub House is a dedicated showroom and lifestyle cafe that sells Honda special edition bikes like the Super Cub C125, Monkey, and CT 125. It also offers design services to Honda MiniMoto riders.

As obvious, the minibike gets the toy brand’s iconic signature Orange and Blue paint scheme. On the chrome front fender lies orange flames while the carbon fibre fuel tank sports the Hot Wheels logo. The grips are mismatched in orange and blue colours and the carbon fibre side covers are also painted in orange. Black 12-inch wheels decorated with orange rims also add a Hot Wheels touch to the Japanese minibike.

The underpinnings and mechanical bits of the special iteration remain unchanged. It is powered by the same 124-cc air-cooled engine that generates a maximum power output of 9.3 PS along with a peak torque of 11 Nm. The power is channeled to the ground via a 5-speed gearbox.

With the purchase of the Honda Monkey X Hot Wheels model, Club House is offering the following goodies to the customers:

• A Hot Wheels-branded helmet
• An engraved keychain
• A fully-stocked 72-car Hot Wheels tower
• A die-cast miniature of the exclusive model with a Hot Wheels-styled skateboard and racks
