There is now a Brabus two-wheeler, the 1300 R

KUALA LUMPUR: Seems like the famous German tuner, Brabus is not content with the 1000 bhp Mercedes and boats. It is now trying hands-on motorcycles.

The deal is Brabus in collaboration with KTM has come up with its first-ever two-wheeler. Known as the 1300 R, the bike doesn’t come with a power hike over the model it is based on. Surprising for a Brabus-treated vehicle, right?

Well, there is a perfectly explainable reason for the missing power hike. The Barbus 1300 R is based on the KTM 1290 Super Duke R Evo that with its 1.3-litre V-Twin mill pumps out 180 bhp of power and 140 Nm of torque. So, it already has pretty impressive figures.

So, what’s new and interesting with the Brabus 1300 R?

Brabus has taken the KTM 1290 Super Duke and added several elements making it stylish and up-to-date with today’s style. Included in the kit is -

• New air intakes
• Forged wheels
• Custom heated seat in red leather
• Retro-looking headlight
• Twin-exit exhaust
• New mirrors
• LED rear light

Not to forget Brabus badging that can be seen in every nook and corner of the 1300 R. Also, Brabus has used plenty of carbon fibre on the bike, thus making it 5 kg lighter than the EVO it is based on.

Offered in only two frame options Magma Red and Signature Black, both limited to 77 units. All units benefit from KTMs semi-active suspension with six different damping modes along with EVO’s electronic package consisting of - throttle control, traction control, motor slip regulation, stability control, quickshifter, anti-wheelie function, ABS & Supermoto ABS, and cruise control.

Priced at GBP 34,549 (approx. RM 195k), the Barbus 1300 R got completely sold out in less than two minutes of launch.
