Brabus introduces the ‘ultimate off-road pickup’

KUALA LUMPUR: Brabus, the German tuner is known to give its subjects not just a powerful look and feel but an enhanced powerplant. This time around the tuner has grabbed everyone’s attention with the 800 Adventure XPL Superblack.

Before we get into details, we’d like you to remember the Adventure XPL unveiled back in February 2020. Doesn’t ring a bell, no worries. Making the same happen is the 800 Adventure XPL Superblack which is nothing but a special edition version of the former car that has already undergone a fair revision. For instance, 50 mm added wheelbase, portal axles underneath for 490 mm ground clearance, and a full bed plonked at the back. Not to forget the upgraded 4.0-litre V8 mill with a revised turbocharger and a new ECU. The mill thus makes a maximum power of 789 hp and a peak torque of 1000 Nm.

What does the Brabus 800 Adventure XPL Superblack edition offer?

Pretty much every option box is ticked, all this along with an all-black treatment on everything. One can understand the later bit via the black painted jerry cans that match the bodywork.

In addition, the pickup’s bed is lined with Flexiteek, a material used by the tuner on its boats. Hard to miss is the weaved wheel arches that alone add 11.7 cm width to the G-Wagen.

Though it is described as the ‘ultimate off-road pickup’ one needs to be careful around the carbon-fibre skid plate and the light-up side-exit exhausts. While on the outside, it gets all-terrain Pirellis tyres, the cabin packs a tonne of black leather and 260 ‘Shadow Chrome’ finished elements.

Making the car adventure-ready is the front winch that can pull in 4.500 kg. Also, the roof rack can be teamed with a tent allowing you to enjoy a perfect view.

On the performance side, the 2,936 kg weighing 800 Adventure XLP Superblack can complete the century sprint in just 4.8 seconds and attain a top speed of 210 kmph.
