Tiny Proton Saga and e.MAS 5 diecast models debut, priced at RM 78

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton cars have been part of Malaysian family journeys for generations, from first drives to balik kampung trips and countless everyday memories. Beyond the road, Proton continues to find new ways to connect with Malaysians. Following its collaboration with Mattel for the launch of the Hot Wheels Saga, the national carmaker has now formed a new collaboration with Sunway Tiny Toys to roll out two miniature models.  

Proton has launched 1/64 scale models of the new Saga and the e.MAS 5 EV, representing the latest chapter in its product evolution. 

The new Saga continues the legacy of Malaysia’s most recognisable nameplate while setting new sales records for the brand’s ICE models. Meanwhile, the e.MAS 5 has quickly established itself as Malaysia’s first affordable and best-selling EV, highlighting the growing acceptance of electrified vehicles among Malaysians. 

These collectable miniature models are part of the Cerita Malaysia Kita initiative, held in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2026, which celebrates Malaysian stories, brands and everyday experiences through uniquely local collectables.

Sunway Tiny Toys Proton series: Key details

• Where to buy: The new Proton Saga and Proton e.MAS 5 scale models will be available for public purchase at the Sunway Tiny Toys outlet at Sunway Lagoon, as well as selected official resellers. Pre-orders are now open, with stocks said to be limited.

• How much do they cost: Both scale models are priced at RM 78 each.
• What colours are available: The Saga is offered in two colours: Ruby Red and Marine Blue; the latter shade will make its official debut at The Model Car Show 2026, set to be held at Pavilion Bukit Jalil from 27 to 28 July. The Proton e.Mas 5, on the other hand, will come in Marble Cream and Quartz Rose colour options.

By launching these 1/64 die-cast models, Proton aims to bring its cars closer to Malaysians of all ages, including collectors, enthusiasts, children and anyone with a fondness for Malaysian automotive culture.
