10k Proton Sagas booked in 5 days - 1 every 43 seconds

KUALA LUMPUR: The Proton Saga has been a symbol of national pride in Malaysia for over 40 years, and its latest version is set to take its popularity and appeal to the next level. Within just five days of opening for booking, the all-new Saga has bagged an impressive 10,000 bookings, reflecting Malaysians’ love for the nation’s iconic car. 

Put simply, the automaker received 2,000 bookings per day, 83 every hour, or one new booking every 43 seconds.

“The All-New Saga is more than just a car; it’s a symbol of national progress, reimagined for a new generation. To receive 10,000 bookings in only five days is both humbling and inspiring, and we thank Malaysians for their trust and support,” said Dato’ Ir. Abdul Rashid Musa, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, PROTON. 

“To ensure that customers can experience the all-new Saga as soon as possible, our production team in Tanjong Malim has been working diligently to ramp up supply, with vehicle deliveries set to begin immediately after the official launch,” he added.

New Proton Saga: IKONIK TOGETHER-GATHER pre-launch tour

To celebrate the overwhelming response, Proton is hosting a nationwide tour called “IKONIK TOGETHER-GATHER”, giving Malaysians a chance to get up close and personal with the new Saga ahead of its official launch. During the event, the new Proton Saga is on display at the following popular local food spots -

• First stops at Tapak Urban Street Dining, KLCC and Tebing, Bandar Dato' Onn, Johor on 15 to 16 November 2025
• Next stop at Tapak Gravitas Jalan Baru, Penang and Car Boot Sale Taman Kerang, Kuantan, from 21 to 23 November

The event also features fun activities, live engagements, and exciting giveaways.

New Proton Saga: Key highlights 

• The new Saga will be available in Standard, Executive, and Premium trims, with indicative pricing ranging between RM 40k and RM 50k.
• Built on the new Advanced Modular Architecture platform, the upgraded sedan is the first model to be fully designed, engineered, and validated in Malaysia, with technical collaboration from Geely.
• It features the next-gen style with a new front grille with ‘Sulaman Songket’ motif, full LED projector headlamps, LED rear taillights, and two-tone 15-inch alloy wheels.

• The refreshed cabin incorporates a new 16-inch Integrated dual screen combining the digital instrument cluster and infotainment display, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 
• As for safety, the Saga sees a big upgrade with the inclusion of the Level 1 Advanced Driver Assistance System, comprising ​​nine intelligent safety functions.
• It is offered in five colour options - Marine Blue, Space Grey, Ruby Red, Armour Silver, and Snow White.

New Proton Saga: Booking details 

Bookings for the new Saga can be made at any authorised Proton dealership nationwide. An exclusive early booking offer is available for those who place a booking from 10 November 2025 until the official launch date, and complete vehicle registration by 31 December 2025 (applicable to the first 20,000 customers). It offers 

• 1-year/20,000 km free service, whichever comes first (inclusive of labour and service parts)
