Mercedes Benz S-Class Cabriolet Review 2024
Abhishek Katariya says
Sitting at the top of the flock, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet is the most expensive and opulent non-AMG convertible car in its Malaysian lineup. One of the most luxurious convertibles in the world, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet is available in a single S 500 Cabriolet variant, which is priced at RM 1,405,888.
Mercedes Benz S-Class Cabriolet Interior & Features
The interior of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet exhibits the best form of opulence. The dashboard has been completely shared with one of the most luxurious cars in the world, the S-Class sedan.
The driver’s cockpit of the S-Class Cabriolet looks fantastic with the finely designed flat bottom multi-functional steering wheel with silver spokes and the now familiar large 12.1 inches full TFT panel with separate screens for the futuristic-looking instrument console and touchscreen infotainment system.
The dashboard has a wide wraparound yacht-like theme flowing just in the middle of it which adjoins the flow on the inside of the door panels as well. The centre of the dashboard consists of four round AC vents, below of which are placed buttons of climate control, and gear lever in the piano black finished central transmission tunnel.
One can customise the entire cabin among the range of upholstery and trim options to choose from, which differ in terms of leather and colour combinations. While the cabin of the Mercedes Benz S-Class Cabriolet has no lack of features and quality, the rear seat space is compromised for the two-door appeal of the car.
S-Class Cabriolet Exterior
One look at the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet, and it easily classifies as the most opulent and classy looking convertible cars of all times.
The front fascia of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet shares its wide grille with rounded edges and a large brand logo flanked with a single horizontal chrome strip on its either side. Even the sweptback headlamps with curved edges, which have full LED bulbs and sleek looking daytime running LEDs within them, have been shared with the S-Class sedan.
The side profile of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet has an elegant look, with the low slung stance complemented with low ground clearance, door-mounted rearview mirrors, two-door look, and large 20-inch alloy wheels. There is a sharp character line flowing all the way from the middle of the front fender flowing all the way down to the wide rear fender.
At the rear, there are subtle differences between the Mercedes Benz S-Class Cabriolet and its four-door sedan counterpart. The number plate housing moves downwards on the bumper and the boot lid looks clean with a sleek chrome garnish line between the super wide LED tail lamps. The curved upper boot lid and the wide wraparound chrome belt line adds to the elegance of the S-Class Cabriolet.
Mercedes Benz S-Class Cabriolet Ride & Handling
For a top of the range luxury convertible car which weighs over two tonnes, the Mercedes Benz S-Class Cabriolet handles pretty well, for the taut steering setup and stiff suspension setup complemented with air charged shocks along with multiple drive modes enhancing the overall ride quality as well.
S-Class Cabriolet Engine & Fuel Consumption
The sole engine gearbox combination employed for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet is a 4.7-litre V8 petrol engine coupled to a 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox. The powertrain, here in the S-Class Cabriolet, pumps out a maximum power output of 455 PS and a peak torque output of 700 Nm. The engine has its top speed restricted at 250 kmph and can go from 0 to 100 kmph mark in just 4.6 seconds, despite the high kerb weight of the car.
Mercedes Benz S-Class Cabriolet Braking & Safety
The top of the range feeling of the Mercedes Benz S-Class Cabriolet is felt with the extensive list of safety features, like front, side, overhead and knee airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring system, lane departure warning, active distance assist, attention assist, lane-keeping assist, electronic stability control, traction control and many more.
S-Class Cabriolet Verdict
