Ford lawyers claim the leaked photos, likely to be the 2020 Ranger

KUALA LUMPUR: Leaks are an inherent part of every industry, they make the customers, and other stakeholders feel connected in between the lengthy gaps of successive product launches. The automobile industry is also indoctrinated with this; most of the times brands and companies pay no heed to the leaks. But sometimes companies like Ford go on and decide to take a different path and opt for action against the wrongdoer.

A publishing organisation from Australia acquired a few images, which were later picked up by another website. The vehicle in the pictures was not completely identified as the logos were obscured, the wheel, however, suggested it to be a Ranger pickup truck. The whole event came into limelight when Ford instead of ignoring, decided to take action against the concerned auto portal. And in doing so, they admitted in writing that the vehicle is, in fact, theirs.

The law firm working on behalf of Ford in a letter asked the portal to take down the leaked images of the Ford automobile.

The image suggested it to be a Ranger pickup and since Ford does a lot with design and development in Australia, the presumptions of the vehicle make a sense. By carefully examining the timings, one can decipher that the late 2019 and early 2020 is the ideal time for the world premiere of a new Ford T6 Ranger. The Ford T6 Ranger is primarily conceived in the Land Down Under and was launched way back in January 2011.

Keeping the specific model aside for a moment, the car-lovers should thank Ford for confirming the leaks. The unexpected move by the company may look weird but has done a great service to the stakeholders.
