Ford Ranger Storm coming soon at Sao Paulo motor show

KUALA LUMPUR: The upcoming 2018 Sao Paulo International Motor Show is already set to be a blast as the new Ford Ranger Storm would be making its debut. It would be sharing its platform architecture underpinning with that of the Everest. 

The revealed new Ford Ranger Storm is presently in its concept form, but we are expecting a production-ready version to come in the future soon. This concept model has a highly upgraded profile which appears to be similar to the EcoSport Storm. However, we don’t have this model in the country as well.

This Ford Ranger Storm will be given a revised suspension mechanism. Along with this, there would be unique design alloy wheels that would be wrapped in chubby all-terrain type tyres. It will also be given excessively rugged cladding all around, especially on the thick wheel arches, and a custom body paint kit. Apart from this, the huge and beefy front grille is done in black and holds the STORM badging inscribed on it.

Apart from these, there are some other additions like roof rails, blacked out rear profile and thick front skid plates with towing hook.

On the mechanical side, the concept Ranger Storm has a 3.2-litre diesel engine under the hood, which will have a 6-speed automatic transmission unit attached. An all-wheel drive will also be given.

The present lineup of Ranger pickup in Malaysia includes the Ranger WildTrak, Ranger XLT, and the Ranger XL. Moreover, the Ranger Raptor is slated to be introduced here soon. Plus, if the Storm variant is launched here too, following the unveil, it would make life very difficult for the competitors, big time.
