Porsche introduces Cayenne S Coupe, to sit between Base and Turbo variants

KUALA LUMPUR: Porsche unveiled the Cayenne Coupe in two variants - Turbo and Base, back in March. It has now introduced a new trim, called the Cayenne S Coupe, which will be slotted between two the existing variants.

The new coupe brings a whole new range of equipment. It gets the Sport Chrono Package on the production model along with the eight-way powered sport seats and a fixed panoramic glass roof. The customers have the option to choose either a dual-seat layout at the rear or a bench seat.

Moreover, there is an option to get the Lightweight Sport Package for the S Coupe, same as the base model. The package adds a Sport Design body kit, carbon fibre parts for the rear diffuser and roof, air blades, and matte black air intakes. Inside the cabin, there are additional utilities like Alcantara-wrapped heated steering wheel, Alcantara headliner, and houndstooth seat centre sections.

Porsche Cayenne S Coupe is equipped with a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, which is similar to the Panamera. The engine is capable of churning out a maximum power of 440 PS, while the peak torque is 550 Nm. The power is sent to all the four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

As mentioned earlier, S Coupe gets a slot between the Base and Turbo variants, so the performance figures will also be better than the base, while smaller than the Turbo. Starting from 0, it reaches the 100 kmph sprint in five seconds, however wearing all the lightweight packages, the car completes the same sprint in 0.1 seconds lesser time. It is capable of achieving a top speed of 263 kmph.
