Introduction:

When it comes to manufacturing the most classic cars, Porsche family holds its head high and is regarded as the paragon of flamboyance. Panamera, the luxury 5 door GT-variant, is yet another high power invention by the German automakers Porsche AG. The car was first introduced at 13th Auto Shanghai International Automobile Show in 2009 and ever since then the car has been doing well on sales chart worldwide. Engine, mileage & variants:

The immensely sporty Panamera is currently available in 9 variants across Malaysia and these variants are in total powered by a 3.0-litre diesel engine and 3.0-litre, 3.6-litre and 4.8-litre petrol engines and it is also made available in a hybrid variant. The efficient naturally aspirated engines with four overhead camshafts deployed in the car benefits from a lightweight construction and enables smooth running. The maximum power delivered across all the variants ranges from 184 kW between 3800 to 4400 rpm to 419 kW at 6000 rpm. The peak torque reached varies from 400 Nm at 3750 rpm to 750 Nm between 2250 to 5000 rpm. The VarioCam Plus Technology works in harmonics with the direct fuel injection system to deliver a superior fuel economy. The mileage of the car ranges from 9.3 kmpl to 15.8 kmpl. The hybrid variant gives an exceptional mileage of 32.2 kmpl.

Exteriors:

All the cars of Porsche embed the blueprint of the ever popular 911 as their design mantra, Panamera is no different and has kept the basic folklore of the German company with its dynamic and elite aesthetics. The low sporty front, the sharply defined edges, the new link between the stylish headlights and the long sloping bonnet look immensely captivating. The aerodynamic side profile in harmonics with the sporty rear gives the car a touch of sophistication. Overall, the dimensions of Porsche Panamera measure 5015 mm x 1931 mm x 1418 mm(L x W x H) and the wheelbase of the car measures 2920 mm. The car comes employed with alloy wheels of tyre measurements 245/50 R18, 275/45 R18, 255/45 R19 and 285/40 R19.

Interiors:

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous:

The adaptive air suspension deployed in the car comprises of a leveling system, a manual lift function and the spring rate variability that enables a smooth driving. The braking system is equipped with six-piston aluminium mono bloc fixed brake calipers at the front and 4-piston units at the rear which is more than enough to ensure an effortless drive. The German automakers haven't compromised safety with high power engines and have equipped the car with plenty of safety features. Panamera is equipped with full size airbags that work in 2 different stages depending on the intensity of collision. Besides that the car has been incorporated with plenty of other safety features like Porsche Side Impact Protection System, Anti Theft Protection and Porsche Stability Management that are more than enough to ensure a safe ride.

Verdict:

Porsche Panamera sports a very distinct ambiance of its non-conformist styling which adds true sportiness to an elite luxury. Yes, the elongated bonnet and overall body structure may come across awkward for a few, but with a considerable increase in sales charts, we aren't really complaining.
