Proton X70 - Reasons why it is a 10/10 SUV

Proton X70 is scheduled for a later this year launch. With November already started, the SUV can enter the Malaysian territory any day now. And seeing it multiple times both in reel and real has amazed us beyond expectation. The existing Proton lineup is good; it stocks some reliable, affordable cars that a buyer can go for without a doubt. The X70, however, apart from inheriting all that pros comes with a few of its own benefits. Thus, making it the soon to be born star of the Malaysian auto arena. You say, why so? Well, below we have presented six points that would rightfully justify our claim. But before that let us first catch with the latest update around the car in question, the X70.

So, recently Proton Malaysia shared the pre-launch booking results of Proton X70. The automaker announced that they had received over 10,000 bookings since its introduction. Out of the total booking number, 2000 came in via the online platform. The said announcement was made during the official launch of Ming Heng Motor Sdn Bhd, the new Proton 4S dealer in Setapak. Dr. Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of Proton, said, ‘We are thankful to all Malaysians for the support they have given to PROTON since we started accepting bookings for the Proton X70. We were unsure how customers would react to this new method to book a car, but its success points to how cars might be sold in the future.” He further added that the company now asks for a little bit more patience from everybody as they make the final preparations for the launch of the Proton X70. The X70 is Proton’s first SUV as well as the first car to be jointly developed by PROTON and Geely. ‘We are working hard to ensure it meets the expectations of buyers and is also investing heavily in our outlets and dealerships so that we have the necessary sales and after sales, resources to support such an important product,’ added Dr. Chunrong.

Also, as per the pre-launch preview schedule, Proton X70 is done with all the listed destinations. Thus leaving enough time for the company to prepare for the much-awaited launch.

There’s no doubt that the X70 comes with a design language that’s never been tried on a Proton car before. And the good part is that it goes with trend and liking of the new-gen buyers. Say, for example, the bold LED headlamps with daytime running lamps along with sharp contour lines, all this go with the entire big-SUV aura. The solid 18-inch alloy wheels give it a remarkable road presence. The X70 cabin is plush. Everything from the look to feel is excellent. We love what Proton has done with the dashboard; all the gadgets are placed ergonomically. The seats are comfortable and wrapped in the best upholstery (leather or fabric depending on the variant). The range-topping trim even comes with power adjustment function to help find occupants preferred seating position and a panoramic sunroof.

We have already spoken about the leather-wrapped steering wheel that comes with various controls for connectivity, audio, and more. It is designed to offer a firm grip. The Proton X70 comes with a range of features all that is considered advanced and mostly found in luxury segment. The voice command tech that activates with ‘Hi Proton’ is capable of taking care of a range of functions from navigation to air-con. Also, decorating X70 specs sheet are features like remote control access via a mobile app, powerful surround sound system with 9-speakers, six USB ports, automatic dual zone air-con with individual temperature preference, air purifier system, and rain-sensing wipers.
