Honda Rebel 500 gets a colour update in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Boon Siew Honda, the official distributor of Honda motorcycles in Malaysia, has introduced two new captivating shades for the Rebel 500, giving riders more ways to express their style. 

This stylish and versatile cruiser motorcycle is now offered in refined and brighter Pearl Sugarcane Beige and Matte Dim Grey Metallic hues for a timeless aesthetic.

With the colour upgrade, there is no change in price and specifications. The Japanese cruiser is still priced at RM 33,899 (excluding road tax, insurance and registration) as before.

At the core lies the same tried and tested 471-cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, which delivers a maximum power of 45.59 hp at 8,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 43.3 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Power is sent to the wheels via a six-speed gearbox mated to an assist and slipper clutch system.

Style-wise, the bike continues to turn heads with its timeless ‘bobber’ look featuring a striking round headlight, a low seat height (measuring 690 mm), an ultra-thin oval tail light and an eye-catching 11.2L fuel tank, ideal for both city commutes and adventurous journeys. 

Adding to the appearance and practicality are the fat 'bobber'  style 16-inch wheels paired with 130/90 front and 150/80 rear tyres. Other key highlights include - 

• LCD instrument cluster with white backlight
• 41mm Telescopic Fork at the front
• Showa with Pro-Link System at the rear
• Single hydraulic disc on both ends 
• Dual-channel ABS
