Volkswagen Cross Touran

Introduction:

A trio of Volkswagen vehicles were launched simultaneously in Malaysia – Volkswagen Jetta, Passat and Cross Touran. Among these, the Volkswagen Cross Touran which is a 5-7 seater compact MPV got reviews of being a versatile vehicle offering you adventure with highly adaptable modes as well as giving a good mileage count. Unlike the two sedans, Cross Touran grabbed more attention due to its redefined exteriors with wider wheel arches and dark inner trim fabric covered interiors. It also has plenty of space for both, the passengers and the cargo.

Engine, mileage & variants:

The Cross Touran is powered with 1.4-litre, TSI twincharged direct petrol injection 4-cylinder engine which successfully churns out a maximum power output of 140 PS at 5600 rpm along with a high torque of 220 Nm at 1500 rpm. In comparison to other vehicles in its class, it delivers higher fuel efficiency and lets the engine breathe effortlessly. Traveling over urban areas, it consumes 8.9 l/100km, in extra-urban areas it takes 6.0 l/100km and in combined driving cycle, mileage comes at about 7.1 l/100km. For smooth transition of gears and quick engine performance, it is coupled with 7-speed direct shift DSG gearbox.

Exteriors:

Cross Touran's exterior structure is that of a compact MPV with overall dimensions 4406mm X 1799mm X 1685mm (L X WX H) and a wheelbase of 2677mm. Its exteriors look a notch above its class all thanks to the German engineers. Its main highlights which makes it charming are electronic panoramic sunroof, integrated LED day-time running light and bi-xenon headlamps. It packs a decent overall profile but might look a bit boxy to some. The tyre size are 215/50 R17 on front and 235/45 R17 on the rear with 17 inch alloy wheels. Other than that the rear profile also grabs attention with its two-piece rear light and painted roof spoilers.

Interiors:

The Volkswagen Cross Touran has interiors that make your journey blissful and comfortable. Touran is lined inside with 'Fey' fabric seat upholstery with dashboard elegantly highlighted in Iridium decorative inserts. Climatronic air conditioning system allows you to set dual zone temperature as per the desire. Storage compartments apart from cargo space is offered to keep your handy things in front centre armrest, door pockets, dual cup holders, etc. Radio 'RCD 310' with MP3, CD player, mobile interface MEDIA-IN, USB, aux-in will keep you entertained through out the rides with multi-functional display PLUS screen. On folding the rear seats, it offers a humongous max boot space of 1989-litres.
