Golf is available in 4 different colors - Deep Black, Tungsten Silver, Indium Grey and Atlantic Blue Metallic.
The highest selling model from Volkswagen across the globe, the Golf is being pitched as the perfect small family car by the German manufacturer. The Malaysian market has already got the latest eighth-generation Volkswagen Golf which was showcased for the first time in 2019.
In Malaysia, the Volkswagen Golf is available in a single top-spec R-Line variant, which is priced at RM 168,505 and is being offered in four colour options – Pure White, Deep Black, Indium Grey and Atlantic Blue.
The best word to describe the interior cabin of the Volkswagen Golf is ‘classy’ – while it looks very simple and less flashy than many other premium hatchbacks, the subtle updates and tough build quality and premium fit and finish definitely set it apart from others.
The all-black cabin with slight silver touches here and other makes the cabin looks sporty, and so is the driver’s cockpit in particular as well. The three-spoke flat-bottom multifunctional steering wheel with piano inserts and a 12.3-inch full TFT instrument console combine up for a great look. The centre console too looks simple yet futuristic with the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a panel for the dual-zone automatic climate control.
Wrapped in Vienna leather upholstery, the seats look sporty yet are comfortable, and while the space at the rear is good with ample knee room and legroom, the shoulder room is quite limited. The cabin gets few more amenities like rear AC vents, keyless entry with push-button start, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, and height adjustment for the driver’s seat.
This eighth-generation Volkswagen Golf has started from where the previous model left, by being a more taut and sharper looking version of the latter. It is quintessentially a Golf, but with all the modern changes included, it looks much posher than ever before.
At the front, the Volkswagen Golf looks sleek with the familiar rectangular grille, which here features a thin chrome strip running across its width and the big round Volkswagen logo in the middle. The basic shape of the headlamps looks more or less the same as before, but now feature revised double L-shaped daytime running LEDs and full LED headlamps. The bumper inserts look more aggressive than ever before while featuring small LED fog lamps.
The side profile of the Volkswagen Golf sees limited changes over the previous model, save for new machined alloy wheels, and a noteworthy crease running across the doors. The angular window panels and the basic silhouette remains the same. At the back too, the Volkswagen Golf gets subtle updates over the previous model with new LED tail lamps and a crisp line flowing across the width of the boot lid, along with new dual exhaust ports in the slightly revised rear bumper.
The new Volkswagen Golf continues the tradition of all the previous iterations of the car with good driving dynamics. The perfectly weighted steering setup and slightly stiff setup for the suspension do make the Golf a desirable car to drive at the given budget. However, the ride quality is on a slightly stiffer side.
While the Volkswagen Golf is available with a versatile set of engines overseas, the Malaysian market only gets the 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which is being offered with a standard 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The engine produces healthy figures, with 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque.
The Volkswagen Golf packs in an excellent safety features list, which does include the likes of front, side, curtain and knee airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, automatic post-collision braking system, cruise control, driver alert system, electronic stability control, engine drag torque control, electronic differential lock, hill hold control, and tire pressure monitoring system.
The Volkswagen Golf, in its latest iteration, might not be a massive upgrade over the model it replaces. However, the subtle tweak and feature additions in and out are enough to make it feel all new. The ever-lovable performance from the turbocharged engine as well as great driving mannerisms does make it a favorite for people who love driving.
The Volkswagen Golf is a super-compact hatchback that sets new standards on reliability. This small affordable car, however, carries much more than what meets the eye. It's packed with a wide variety of innovative design features rarely found among other contemporaries in its price range. The 2.5L 5-cylinder engine is a high-performance beast rated at a peak power of 170
Since I was looking for a high-end four wheeler, streamlined car model, I chose the Golf model from Volkswagen. It consists of a 1.4L turbo engine based on the patented TSI technology to enhance the performance of the car. The front wheels are powered by a 6-speed manual transmission system. Five different exterior color options are present starting with metallic
I came across the Volkswagen golf and I was trying to search for my next car. I saw the car in my nearest dealership and my wife really love the car because of its looks. However, what I really liked about the car was its impeccable performance that it gave in the streets as well as the highways. Besides that,
The interior of this car looks plush and decent. The day I went to check the car in their showroom and stepped within , I decided this is the kind of ambience I look for in my car. Another factor that I cherished was the more than enough space for front seat passengers. Being on driving seat mostly, I need
While many believe that the Volkswagen Golf lacks the poke in its modernity, I defer to that opinion. It is much more that what meets to the eye. Behind that understated and sober appeal of it lies the amazing engineering prowess of Volkswagen in almost every aspect. I do own the latest model which is packed with features to the
The Golf is an outright driver’s car. It’s comfortable and very easy to drive, The car is shockingly composed and very quiet even at high speeds. While driving the car, I never find it to be too floaty even though the suspension is pretty comfort biased. The emergency braking is very composed and holds the car perfectly on a straight
The Golf ticks all the boxes when it comes to being an everyday car. It offers a lot of comfort over speed bumps and otherwise and has enough space for all its passengers. The boot space is big enough to keep your luggage in case you decide to go on a trip over the weekend. The engine is very swift
People might think that the Volkswagen Golf is a very overpriced car to be a hatchback. However, if you look closely, the high price is for a reason. It is one of the most premium cars you could own in the segment and has a powerful 148 horsepower engine. And yes, you don’t get the ordinary automatic transmission, but a
Few days back I had a splendid birthday gift – the Volkswagen Golf. My parents gifted me on my 22nd birthday. The brand name Volkswagen itself speaks for it all- the excellent car makers. I was amazed by the wow quotient of this striking golf. The fact that adds to its beauty and elegance is the sharp, edgy and bulky
Who doesn't love to owe cars. They are like the favorite possession of everyone. I was very enthusiastic to get a car after my first year in work. I had enough savings to get a decent one but the decision to purchase one was far easier than coming to actually choosing the one I want to purchase. There were so
