Volkswagen Touareg R-Line

The cabin of the Touareg R-Line is unmistakably Volkswagen, with the SUV exhibiting tight fit and finish levels with high-quality materials used. The Volkswagen Touareg R-Line has an all-black leather upholstery coupled with brushed dark aluminium decorative inserts for the dashboard and door trim panels, a high-gloss black centre console and a bezel in dark anodized aluminium.

Behind the T-shaped, three-spoked, heated and multi-functional steering wheel, which is both tilt and telescopic adjustable, the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line has a 12.3-inch full-TFT instrument console with customizable menus and information. The centre console, which is slightly tilted towards the driver’s side, houses a large 15-inch Discover Pro Max touchscreen infotainment system, which supports wireless connectivity and is home to the 13-speaker Dynaudio sound system with a 16-channel amplifier and subwoofer.

The waterfall-themed lower centre console of the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line houses the transmission lever, controls for the four-zone automatic climate control, USB Type-C charging ports and an electronic parking brake switch. The SUV further gets premium features like 30-colour ambient lighting, wireless charger, ventilated and heated front seats, powered front seats with memory function, a panoramic sunroof and more. 

With the most recent update, the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line has only become sharper and more elegant, and with the R-Line trim that which it is being offered, the SUV looks a bit sporty too. The crisp lines and sharp-looking design elements make the SUV look premium from all angles.

The front profile of the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line has a wide-stretched design for the fascia, which includes a chrome finish for the upper and lower edges of the grille with tapered edges on the lower corners. The single, wide chrome running through the centre of the grille extends to the sides, while also housing daytime running LED strips on the corners, above which the IQ.Light full-LED Matrix headlamps of the SUV are placed.

The R-Line front bumper looks sporty with the huge air dam with a diamond-shaped mesh design stretched across its entire width, with chrome garnish over the lower and sides of the air dam. The corners of the front bumper also house cornering fog lamps with gloss black garnish panels around them. The side profile of the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line has a crisp crease running front end to end, with the SUV also having smooth contours for the bonnet, door-mounted rearview mirrors, 20-inch Braga alloy wheels and silver roof rails.

From the back, the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line looks wide with the sleek-looking and horizontally-laid LED tail lamps featuring a sleek LED connected light bar running between them. Below the entire tail lamp assembly, the boot lid of the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line also gets a sharp crease running across its width above the rear license plate housing.

Available with Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive system, the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line also gets four drive modes – Normal, Comfort, Off-Road and Special Off-Road – as a part of the SUV’s adaptive air suspension setup. While the Touareg R-Line is not an outright off-road-oriented SUV, these chassis features mentioned above give it enough traction and composure while it is driven.

The only engine option on offer for the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line is a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine, which is coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Equipped with a start-stop system with generative braking, this engine produces 340 PS of maximum power and 450 Nm of maximum torque. The maximum fuel efficiency claimed by this engine in the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line is 11 kmpl.
