Volkswagen Vento is actually an up gradation to Volkswagen Polo to give it a sedan look. It is a facelift version with added features. Cosmetically, there isn't much to differentiate between the Vento from Polo Sedan. The major changes are on the grille with its larger size, redesigned bumper, and rectangular new fog lights that are similar to its larger Passat sibling styling guide. Many people mentioned that the Vento possesses more resemblance to the Passat.
The Vento now sports a larger 6.5-inch R340G touchscreen display entertainment unit equipped with Bluetooth, USB, iPod interface, and an SD card slot. These features are considered trendy and standard in the modern entertainment zone. The rest of the cabin has no major changes and is not too different from its rivals but can be considered elegant and rich in terms of design. There is full use of textured plastic and metal-colored interior trim. The new steering wheel is wrapped with leather and detailed with piano black, which make it classier.
The seats have also undergone changes to give more sitting comfort. In this segment, few cars with the same price category will have seats of such premium quality. With its adequately elongated body, the rear passengers get more legroom and other small accessories provide comfort like rear cooling vents, fairly sizable door pockets and a fold-away cup holder.
The Vento is equipped with remote-operated power windows to cool the interior before you enter.
The front part of this new sedan Vento is a look-alike of the Polo hatchback. It has been stretched at the rear end for giving a proper sedan look.
The Vento has a slight front up gradation in the headlamp area from halogen to full LED daytime running lights. LED taillights and the bumper are new and redesigned. Its four corners are wrapped with larger 16-inch wheels 215/45R16 that are also the largest in its segment.
Ride quality and handling of Vento is far superior and more comfortable than its rivals. At higher speeds, the Vento is more stable and refined. The ride quality on bumpy roads is good as the suspension is solid enough to dampen road imperfections. The refinement and composure make it easy to tackle the car through winding roads at high speeds and this is where the Vento beats others in its class.
Volkswagen Vento has a 1.2-litre TSI turbocharged mill of 1197cc capacity. Direct injection makes the Vento different from its rivals. The maximum power of 105 PS generated is less with this 1.2-litre TSI engine isn’t leading when compared to other cars in the segment with 1.5-litre or 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engines. The 175 Nm of maximum torque provides for some excellent acceleration. The 7-speed dual clutch DSG is available in manual shift but not paddle.
The Vento is equipped with four airbags, Anti-lock Braking System to control braking and provide much more stability on road, Electronic Stability Control, cruise system, Hill-Hold Control. The ICRS (Intelligent Crash Response System) is another awesome safety tech. It shut off the fuel line to minimize the risk of catching fire and explosion if gets activated during crash, unlock the doors to minimize the risk of trap and switch on the hazard lights. The Vento was given 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating.
The price of Volkswagen Vento in Malaysia, falls within the range from RM 84,690 to RM 91,490. It comes with a 5-year warranty, 3-year free maintenance and 5-year roadside assistance.
As a mechanical package, the Vento is far superior from its rivals. The B-segment is the most competitive class in the market and the Vento has just elevated itself to a serious contender, worthy of considering it for the potential buyers.
Comes in an automatic and petrol variant, Vento has always been among the top classy sedans. You can choose from various colors in this sedan, and I chose red because of its authentic Vento style. Equipped with a 6.5-inch touchscreen, this card allows you to take out various commands, and the AppleCare Play lets you connect your iOS device to
A lot of people were not happy with my decision to buy the Volkswagen Vento over the Honda City or any such popular cars. But now, I am proud of that decision because it has been quite a long time already and I haven’t faced any issues. It might not be as powerful as the Honda City but that makes
