One of the most pleasant surprises that I have had with the Yamaha Y15ZR is over the long term how economical it is. In a year and a half, I've clocked more than 12,000 km. I average about 40–55 km/l — and that’s with some hard pulls, mixed riding, and some chill commutes. Maintenance is also very easy. Oil changes are needed after every 3,000 km, brake pads are replaced, and the chain cleaning twice. I had to get the battery replaced once around the 11,500 km mark. The service intervals of Yamaha are reasonable, and spare parts are easily available almost everywhere.
