2016 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet teased via official rendering

Kuala Lumpur: Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser image previewing its upcoming S-Class Cabriolet which is bound to show up at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year. Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet is the brand's first flagship four-seater convertible since 1971.

S-Class Cabriolet, which is the 6th edition to a variant of the elite S-Class family, is pitched as a direct rival to the Bentley Continental GT Convertible. Available in similar engine line-up as the Coupe, S-Class Cabriolet is offered with a Mercedes-AMG S63 version 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine churning out 577 HP and the top ranking S65 engine, 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine producing power of about 621 HP.

As all spy shots we have seen so far showed the S-Class Cabriolet with the electrically operated soft top in the upright position. Although, the rear end has gained some changes, it will be longer than the S-Class Coupe and with a different shape necessary to store the roof when folded.

As far as interior design cues are concerned, Mercedes provides seating for four with the individual electronically adjustable rear seats separated by a centre console. Comfort features like a massage function for the front seats, fragrance dispenser and a series of high-end Burmester surround-sound audio options, including a 3D system has been specially developed for the open top qualities of the S-Class Cabriolet.

Another technology to be outlined with this glorious car is an advanced tilt function that forms part of a reworked magic ride control system capable of the car into corners facilitating more adventurous ride to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet owners.
