Kia Telluride wins prestigious automotive awards for 2020

KUALA LUMPUR: From the fleet of world’s renowned South-Korean auto manufacturer, Kia Telluride bags three prestigious awards, including Car and Driver 10 Best, MotorTrend SUV of the Year and the 2020 North American utility Vehicle of the Year.

Clearly, this is a testament of how formidable the Telluride is as the mid-size SUV. Not only it has outclassed competition but helped Kia to strengthen its reputation on the global stage. This is the first time that one vehicle has been awarded all the above-mentioned three accolades.

The president of Kia Motors America, Michael Cole said, “Winning this ‘Triple Crown’ of prizes is a spectacular achievement for the Telluride. This is not just the unprecedented achievement of a terrific vehicle, but it’s also a high-water mark for the brand and places Kia at the forefront of global automakers.”

The judges at North American Car of the Year (NACTOY) unanimously presented the Kia Telluride the 2020 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year based on its performance recorded by comparing it against the top rivals, performing multiple test drives and doing other assessments.

The Telluride grabbed the MotorTrend SUV of the Year on the basis of its performance, design, engineering, efficiency, safety and value. Aside from these, the mid-size SUV was honoured and included in numerous “Best of” lists from the popular online, print and video channels.

The Car and Driver 10 Best also had the Telluride. This accolade represents top vehicles from the auto magazine’s perspective evaluated on the basis of parameters like driving dynamics, value and mission fulfilment.

Kia has said that people are loving the SUV and its demand is on a continuous rise. The Telluride is amongst the best-selling Kia vehicles in America, according to Kia Motor America. The company has sold around 60,000 units of Telluride since its inception in the market from early 2019.

Designed and developed exclusively for the US and in accordance with the demand and requirements from the US market, the Telluride is the first Kia vehicle to be exported to the United States of America. It is currently assembled at the Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia Inc. plant in West Point, Georgia.
