Omoda C7 and C7 PHEV bookings now open in Malaysia, estimated from RM160,000

KUALA LUMPUR: Omoda & Jaecoo Malaysia has started taking bookings for the all-new Omoda C7 and Omoda C7 PHEV, adding a new premium crossover to the brand's growing line-up here.

Two powertrains are on the table. The regular Omoda C7 runs a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), with an estimated price of RM160,000.Omoda C7 and C7 PHEV bookings now open in Malaysia, estimated from RM160,000 The Omoda C7 PHEV gets the brand's latest Super Hybrid System (SHS) plug-in hybrid setup, pairing a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), estimated at RM180,000.

Both figures are indicative for now, so treat them as a rough guide. Final pricing will only be confirmed at the official Malaysian launch.

At those estimates, the C7 lands in territory occupied by the Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5 on the petrol side, while the PHEV version will be sized up against the growing wave of plug-in hybrid SUVs entering the Malaysian market.

Styling follows Omoda's "Art in Motion" design language. The shape is all sculpted panels and aero-led proportions, fronted by the brand's shark-nose face, full-LED lighting and an illuminated hexagonal motif. It's a busy design, but it certainly won't get lost in a car park.

Inside, the C7 leans hard into screens and comfort kit. There's a 15.6-inch 2.5K central display, an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats, double-glazed front windows and a ventilated 50W wireless charger.

Boot space is a genuine selling point at 614 litres, expanding to 1,371 litres with the rear seats down, which puts it among the more practical options in the segment for family duty and long hauls.

A full Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite and connected features round out the package.

Ahead of the launch, both cars were shown to the public at Suria KLCC from 7 to 9 August 2026, at the Concourse Level next to Uniqlo and the Ground Level next to Louis Vuitton. The showcase ran alongside Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2026, with product specialists on hand and bookings taken on the spot.

"Ahead of their official market introduction, the exclusive preview at Suria KLCC will allow customers and the public to experience the OMODA C7 and OMODA C7 PHEV up close while learning more about their design, technologies and powertrain options before their official launch," Chris Tan added.
