Mercedes-AMG GT S is Revealed, Priced At RM1.15 mil

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has included a new sports car in its fleet to go neck to neck with rivals like Porsche 911 Turbo and Audi R8. The new Mercedes-AMG GT S has been revealed at the Sepang International Circuit.

The epithet “S” describes that among two variants, it is the more powerful variant which is globally available. Therefore, the 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 with the two turbines located inside the V configuration as in the F10 BMW M5- agitates the full 510 PS at 6,250 rpm and 650 Nm from 1,750-4,750 rpm.

A seven-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission(DCT) helps in sending the drive to the rear end. It enables this beast to rise from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds before achieving the speed of 310 km/h, which is electronically-limited.

The price range of GT is from RM1,150,000 which increases to RM1,200,000 for the Limited -run Edition 1. Without insurance, both prices are considered on road, inclusive of GST. The equipment used includes an AMG performance exhaust with fully-variable flaps, AMG Ride Control variable damping and and a differential electronic locking. User get the Dynamic Package by specifications of Edition 1.

Transmission mounts and dynamic engine are incorporated in this machine along with a “Race” mode for the AMG Dynamic Select system, higher negative camber on the front wheels as well as sports speed-sensitive steering, stiffer suspension.

With the Edition 1, a black aerodynamic package(front wheel arch flics, larger front splitter, black side sill trim and an an enormous fixed rear wing), an exterior Night package (wing mirrors, rear wing, tailpipes), a carbon-fibre roof and the wheels finished in black with a high-sheen finish are also included.
