KUALA LUMPUR: Honda has unveiled its replacement for CBR1000 RR, the CBR1000RR-R. This new motorcycle was unveiled at the Sepang International Circuit during the 2019 races of Malaysia. The 2020 CBR1000RR-R was first revealed at the 2019 EICMA motorcycle show in Italy and adapts its design and styling from Honda’s MotoGP racing motorcycles.

The motorcycle uses an inline-four Racing technology engine, generating maximum power of 214 hp and mustering torque of up to 113 Nm. The engine comes mated with accessories such as titanium connecting rods, forged pistons and finger-follower rocker arms to provide the rider with a better valve actuation.

While its other variant, SP version is said to feature Brembo Stylema callipers and Ohlins electronic suspension. The features to aid the riding of a user contain Honda Selectable Torque Control (HTSC), engine braking and wheelie control with an additional launch control in the CBR1000RR-R.

Although the pricing and availability date of the CBR1000RR-R is not yet announced in Malaysia, this sporty looking beast is intended to compete in the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) which is currently dominated by Kawasaki ZX-10RR.
