The Yamaha YZF R25, a beloved quarter-litre sports bike in Malaysia, has made its way to the 2022 market with a series of updates. These include a revised price tag and fresh color choices, such as Orange Lynx and Racing Blue. The updated retail price for the bike in Malaysia now stands at RM22,998, marking a significant increase compared to the previous price of RM19,998.
One notable update is the enhancement of the braking system. The R25 now features single hydraulic disc brakes at both the front and rear, equipped with standard dual-channel ABS, which is a new addition.
Despite these changes, most aspects of the R25 remain consistent with the previous year's model. The powertrain, for instance, remains unchanged, featuring a twin-cylinder liquid-cooled 249 cc engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission system.
Yamaha YZF R25 Prices: The YZF R25 was recently updated in the last quarter of 2022 and it now comes with two new colour options – Orange Lynx and Racing Blue. Even the braking setup was upgraded and the R25 now comes with ABS as standard. As of now, the R25 is available in a single variant in the Malaysian market and comes priced at RM 22,998.
Yamaha YZF R25 Features: For the 2022 update, the R25 now gets LED turn signals that replace the halogen lights on the previous model. This quarter-litre sports bike takes inspiration from the R1 and gets a stylish front end with a dual headlight setup. The tail lamp features a trapezoidal design and uses LEDs. The digital analogue instrument cluster shows all the necessary basic information and includes a gear shift indicator as well. The suspension unit includes upside-down forks at the front and mono-shock on the rear adjustable for preload.
Yamaha YZF R25 Engine: Powering this bike is a 249cc two-cylinder DOHC liquid-cooled engine that makes 35.5 hp of power at 12000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 10000 rpm. The engine comes paired with a six-speed gearbox. The engine delivers a mileage of around 15-20 kmpl.
