Alfa Romeo is back in Malaysia with Giulia and Stelvio Veloce - Bookings open, est RM400k

KUALA LUMPUR: After more than ten years, Alfa Romeo is officially back in Malaysia, this time under DLSB Partners Sdn Bhd, an independent private distributor and member of Atlantis Motor Group.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Where will the new Alfa Romeo showroom be?

The Casa Alfa Romeo flagship 3S centre will be at Rhapsody Square in TREC Kuala Lumpur.
  • The brand’s return will be anchored by a new showroom and flagship 3S centre at TREC Kuala Lumpur, along with a renewed promise of long term support for both new and existing owners.

The relaunch starts with two models, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce and Stelvio Veloce, which picks up where the Italian marque left off, pairing recognisable styling with the sort of driving feel that has long attracted the “Alfisti” crowd.

Bookings are now open for both models, with prices estimated at around RM400,000 each. Interested buyers can secure a unit via the official Alfa Romeo Malaysia website. The first cars are scheduled to arrive early next year, which is also when Alfa Romeo plans to hold the official launch.

Giulia Veloce – the sports sedan

The Giulia Veloce comes in as the classic Alfa format, a rear wheel drive sports sedan with a familiar silhouette and short overhangs. Power comes from a 2.0 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine with 280 hp and 400 Nm, sent to the rear wheels through an eight speed automatic. The company quotes a 0 to 60 km/h time of 5.7 seconds and a limited top speed of 240 km/h.

Alfa Romeo leans heavily on balance and chassis feel, so the Giulia is built around a near 50:50 weight distribution, extensive use of aluminium and its Alfa Link suspension setup. A quick steering ratio of 11.8:1, a carbon fibre driveshaft and a mechanical Q2 limited slip differential are all there to give the car the reactive, “alive” front end that fans expect.

On the outside, you get the usual Alfa cues, including the “Trilobo” grille and full LED Adaptive Matrix “3+3” headlights that mirror more recent Alfas. The Veloce trim adds 19 inch wheels, darker exterior detailing and red Brembo brake calipers.

The cabin mixes old school driver focus with updated tech. Highlights include a 12.3 inch digital TFT instrument cluster with classic style Alfa dials, a minimalist dashboard layout, leather wrapped three spoke steering wheel, sports seats and aluminium trim pieces.

Stelvio Veloce – performance SUV with Q4 all wheel drive

The Stelvio Veloce sits above it as Alfa Romeo’s performance SUV, named after the famous Italian Alpine pass. Under the bonnet is the same 2.0 litre turbocharged engine with 280 hp, paired with an eight speed automatic, but here it is matched to a Q4 all wheel drive system that can shuffle power between the axles when grip is low or when the driver starts to push harder.

The SUV is positioned as the more practical option, but Alfa says it is tuned to steer with the precision of a sedan and accelerate with coupe like urgency. Again, the Alfa Link suspension, 50:50 weight distribution and lightweight materials are part of the recipe.

Inside, the Stelvio aims to blend its sporting brief with family use. There are sculpted sport seats, leather upholstery and aluminium accents around the centre console, but also usable rear legroom and a flexible cargo area to handle weekend trips and family duties.

Casa Alfa Romeo at TREC and ownership programmes

The physical heart of the brand’s return will be Casa Alfa Romeo, a new flagship 3S facility at Rhapsody Square, TREC Kuala Lumpur. The centre will handle sales, service and spare parts, and is being set up as a meeting point for the local Alfa community where customers can view and test drive cars and deal directly with factory certified technicians.

To go with that, Alfa Romeo Malaysia is rolling out a few ownership and community programmes:

    • La Bella Vita
A series of lifestyle and driving events themed around “The Beautiful Life”, including grand tours and destination drives, with some trips planned around locations tied to Alfa Romeo’s history such as the Museo Alfa Romeo.

    • Speed Dating
Track based driving experiences for owners who want to explore their car’s performance in a more controlled environment, with the focus on enjoying the drive rather than chasing lap records.

    • Alfa Concierge
A more personalised assistance service for new owners, making it easier to arrange servicing and care for their cars.

Existing Alfa owners are not being left out. Through the Famiglia Alfa Romeo programme, Alfa Romeo Malaysia says it will support both modern and classic models with factory certified technicians, genuine parts and roadside assistance, working alongside the long running Alfa Romeo Owners Club founded in 1993.

As part of its relaunch push, Alfa Romeo Malaysia is also taking up title sponsorship of the ITF World Tennis Tour M15, which runs from 10 to 23 November 2025 at the National Tennis Centre.

More information and future updates will be shared via Alfa Romeo Malaysia’s Instagram and Facebook channels, as well as its official website at alfaromeomalaysia.com.

DLSB Partners’ Executive Director Dato’ Douglas Cheng said the company is not just here to sell a niche performance brand, but to reconnect Malaysians with what Alfa Romeo represents.

“Malaysians have a special and admirable relationship with Alfa Romeo, understanding that our cars give more than just a way to get places, it also gives us feelings, emotions and sensations. For many owners, it’s an expression of their passion, style and personality, and we’re incredibly excited and proud to have this opportunity to rekindle that connection: reminding Malaysians of our love for cars, driving, and all the positive feelings associated with it. Alfa Romeo is only the beginning for us, and we are on the cusp of introducing more exciting brands,” said Dato’ Douglas Cheng, Executive Director, DLSB Partners Sdn Bhd.
