As part of an early bird campaign, Nissan is offering an introductory rebate of RM5,000, along with an accessories package worth RM8,000, although the accessories package excludes the X variant.

A 1.4-litre HR14DDe three-cylinder DOHC petrol engine with direct injection acts purely as a generator, supplying electricity to the electric motor and battery rather than mechanically driving the wheels. Power is sent through a single-speed gear reduction transmission.
The electric motor produces 163 PS or 120 kW and 315 Nm of torque, delivering instant response from standstill. Energy is stored in a lithium-ion battery rated at approximately 1.77 kWh.
Claimed fuel consumption is 18.5 km per litre under the NEDC cycle, with a potential driving range of up to 1,000 km depending on conditions.
The system also includes e-Pedal Step, allowing drivers to accelerate and decelerate using primarily one pedal, particularly useful in urban traffic.
Photo by Adam AubreyIn terms of dimensions, the Serena measures 4,765 mm in length, 1,885 mm in width and 1,715 mm in height, riding on a 2,870 mm wheelbase.
Kerb weight is listed at 1,799 kg for the higher grades, with minimum ground clearance of 135 mm and a turning radius of 5.7 metres. The MPV runs on 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 205/65R16 Goodyear tyres and carries a 52-litre fuel tank. Seating capacity is seven.
The Premium Highway Star and Shiro Premium Highway Star grades bring the full technology suite. These variants feature dual 12.3-inch displays, consisting of a 12.3-inch full TFT colour digital driver display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Lower variants use a 7-inch driver display paired with a 9-inch infotainment unit.
Photo by Adam AubreyInside, the Serena focuses heavily on comfort and flexibility. Zero Gravity inspired seats are fitted for the driver, front passenger and second row on higher grades, with second-row captain seats featuring armrests and a long-slide function.
The third row uses flip-up seats, allowing flexible cargo configurations. Nissan highlights up to 15 cup holders in higher variants, along with multiple storage compartments throughout the cabin.
Climate control is dual-zone automatic, with second-row digital controls and ceiling air vents for both second and third rows. The Premium Highway Star grade receives a six-speaker audio system including two tweeters, along with six USB ports and a wireless charging pad.
Practicality remains a core Serena strength. Dual sliding doors are available, with hands-free power operation on both sides for higher variants. The MPV also features a dual back door design to improve access in tight parking spaces. Walk-away auto lock and approach auto unlock are included, alongside one-touch power windows for all doors.
Photo by Adam AubreySafety coverage varies by variant but is comprehensive in the upper grades under Nissan Intelligent Mobility and the 360 Safety Shield umbrella. The Premium Highway Star and Shiro Premium Highway Star include ProPILOT, which integrates Intelligent Cruise Control, Intelligent Lane Intervention and Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention.
The suite also includes Intelligent Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Intelligent Driver Alertness, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist, and Intelligent Around View Monitor with 360-degree camera functionality.
Across the range, the Serena features six SRS airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchor points for the second row, 3-point seatbelts for all seats and seatbelt reminders.
Stability and braking systems include Vehicle Dynamic Control with traction control, ABS with EBD and brake assist, hill start assist, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. An emergency stop signal and electric vehicle sound for pedestrians are also included.
Photo by Adam AubreyVisually, the Highway Star grades adopt Nissan’s sporty V-Motion grille design with aerodynamic front bumper detailing, along with three-eye LED projector headlamps featuring auto levelling and LED signature lighting. Two-tone exterior options with a black roof are available on selected variants.
With prices ranging from RM154,800 to RM179,800, the new Serena e-POWER positions itself as a fully electrified seven-seat MPV that offers electric motor driving characteristics without the need for external charging.
The introduction of five variants broadens its appeal, from entry-level practicality in the X to a fully loaded ProPILOT-equipped Shiro Premium Highway Star at the top of the range.
