Audi Q4 e-tron concept unveiled at 2019 Geneva Motor Show
KUALA LUMPUR: Audi has unveiled the much-awaited Q4 e-tron concept at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. It is Audi’s fifth series production EV and will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2020.
The all-new electric SUV is based on Audi ’s modular electrification platform (MEB). It is mainly rear-wheel driven, as the rear electric motor always stays active. However, there’s a front electric motor as well, which work only if the driver wants more performance or at the time when a slip is detected.
The rear motor is capable of churning out a maximum power of 204 PS along with 310 Nm of torque. If activated, the front electric motor pushes out additional power of 102 PS and torque of 150 Nm. Together the motors produce 306 PS of maximum power. The electric SUV reaches from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds, and the top speed is 180 kmph. It uses an 82 kWh battery that delivers an overall driving range of 450 km. With the DC fast-charging via a CCS connector (125 kW), it takes around 30 minutes to refill it up to 80%.
Design-wise, it has a single frame grille at the front featuring four rings. There are large air inlets and matrix LED headlamps. The electric SUV rides on 22-inch wheels.
The all-new Audi e-tron SUV features a spacious cabin. The car comes with a virtual cockpit, which consists of a touchscreen display of 12.3-inch and is placed above the centre console. Along with an augmented reality function, it has a large-format head-up display.
