Buyers can purchase Audi cars directly via company's website; starting June 5
KUALA LUMPUR: Exactly a week from today, i.e., from 5th June 2019, buyers will be able to purchase Audi cars directly from the company's website. Great, isn't it? Wait, there's more to the deal. As the first car to go on sale online will be the Audi TT Quantum Gray Edition. Also, customers can decide on the place and time of the delivery (within Germany), and the owner can register the new Audi with the desired license plate.
Talking more about the limited edition beauty that'll soon go on sale on Audi's website. The special edition TT is limited to 99 units only with each costing 62,305 euros, that is approximately RM 292,000. What makes this TT so exclusive is its red interior package and part-matte TT script on the front of the rear wheels.
Also, included in the special edition package is the Audi Live Consultation. This pilot tech allows customers to get connected with an Audi consultant with just a click of a button. Further, it sends live images of the customers from inside the car, transmitted via augmented reality goggles.
On online selling of cars, Audi's VP of Global Market and Sales, said, "We are garnering experience and learning a lot about user and buyer structures through this pilot project. Online sales is just one pillar of future sales."
Further, the automaker said that via this new selling move, they are emphasising on buyer communication and consultation along with service. However, Sander agreed that traditional retailing "continues to be a strong and reliable partner for us even in times of digitalisation."
By 2020 more Audi cars will be able for sale on the automakers' website.
