OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia announces early-bird promo for J5 and C9 PHEV ahead of launch

KUALA LUMPUR: OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia has announced the estimated pricing along with early-bird promos for its upcoming models, the J5 and C9 PHEV, ahead of their imminent launches later this year. 

Celebrating the festive season, the promo is offering limited-time incentives for early adopters -

Jaecoo J5

Previewed in August 2025, the Jaecoo J5 is positioned below the Jaecoo J7 in the brand’s local lineup. It is a B-segment SUV featuring refined design, advanced technology, and lifestyle-friendly versatility. Powering the J5 is a 1.5-litre turbocharged intercooled engine that delivers a maximum power of 147 PS and a peak torque of 210 Nm.

Official test drives for the J5 are now available at selected authorised dealerships, with launch slated for March 2026.

Omoda C9 PHEV

The Omoda C9 PHEV is the plug-in hybrid version of the C9 launched in 2024. Expected to go on sale in Q2 2026, the plug-in hybrid model looks almost identical to its ICE-powered counterpart and is likely to get the same feature pack. 

Under the hood lies a Super Hybrid System, which combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and three electric motors, tuned to deliver a combined output of 537 PS. Also part of the kit is a 34 kWh battery pack, offering a pure electric driving range of 169 km.

OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia made these announcements during a Media Appreciation event, which also marked the formal introduction of Chris Tan as the new Head of the company, indicating the beginning of a new chapter as the brand prepares for its most significant launch of 2026.
