KUALA LUMPUR: The Chinese automaker, Haval, has previewed a new SUV, codenamed as B06. The model sports a different design route, which is entirely different from the company's current H or F series of SUVs. It is expected to make an official debut in China later this year; however, the model's official name and tech-specs are still under covers.

The latest teasers showcase the SUV in detail. Starting from the outside, it features a sharp and boxy overall silhouette. On the front, it has a large grille with three horizontal slats flanked by circular headlamps with LED daytime running lights.

The SUV stands tall and upright and carries black contrasting wheel arches. It also has thick D-pillars, short front and rear overhangs as well as roof rails. At the back end, there are L-shaped taillights that resemble the Concept H SUV. All these design features give a retro look to the upcoming SUV. Due to the shift in design philosophy, B06 is likely to be underpinned by a brand new platform.

As far as the interiors are concerned, Haval has not teased any cabin picture. However, the list of expected bits includes a large touchscreen infotainment system paired with a digital driver’s display. Haval’s new SUV is designed under the brand’s VP and global design director, Phil Simmons. Previously, he had worked on the designs of Jaguar Land Rover. So, we can expect subtle design elements for the interiors as well.

Regarding the powertrain, no concrete information is available yet. It may adopt the setup from the other ongoing Haval SUVs, including 1.5-litre, and 2.0-litre turbo petrol mills.

Haval is the subsidiary company of Great Wall Motor, and its Malaysian portfolio incorporates only two SUVs - H1 and H2. So, the automaker may introduce the model in the country also. For further updates on the Haval SUV, stay tuned to this place.
