Collaboration of Volkswagen Malaysia and Alia Bastamam - The Potent Interaction of Fashion and Cars

Fashion designers are masters of the use of color, proportion and textiles, which are all very important elements in automotive industry. As such, many fashion houses have teamed with automotive manufacturers on special edition models. Cars have inspired designers across the globe since the day they became a mainstream reality. But collaboration of the two worlds work both ways, likewise, Porsche has become a spot in fashion heaven with its line of luxury accessories Porsche Design.

From car varnish and wardrobe coordination to jewellery, mutton chops and lurid suits, everything has something in common, which is all about creativity!

To celebrate the ever-growing list of collaborations between designers and carmakers, VOLKSWAGEN MALAYSIA has announced its tie-up with local couturier, ALIA BASTMAM at the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear (KLFW RTW) 2015 event.

Even more, this modern-era also expresses a closer proximity between both the worlds, as shown by the beautiful character of the Volkswagen Beetle Club Edition, Golf R and CC and aesthetically designed clothes by Alia Bastmam. To mark the brand’s entry into the fashion world getting under way in Kuala Lumpur this year, the focus has been on the cars and fashion, which is becoming increasingly apparent.

Volkswagen Malaysia has decided to showcase its models including a sneak preview of the Volkswagen Beetle Club Edition that features vibrant and cosmic design ranges of smart cars that our contemporary world demands. Special appearance would be made by the Beetle Club Edition painted in exclusive color, Habanero Orange Metallic and modified by appointing custom decals, darkened wing mirrors and 17-inch 'Ravenna' alloy wheels.

To this unique collaboration, Martina Berg of Volkswagen Group Malaysia (VGM) said, “Over the years, KLFW RTW has demonstrated that it is a great platform to feature creativity and ingenuity. We are very happy to be the Official Car Sponsor this year and celebrate our debut, by showcasing our iconic designs with the Beetle, Golf R and CC”.

Further asking about Alia's potential of captivating visitors attention to the event, Martina added, “We are delighted to be exclusively debuting her Spring/Summer 2016 designs at the Volkswagen Fashion Night with Alia Bastamam runway show,” and “Alia is unquestionably one of the most established local designers, whose commitment to timeless and solid design perfectly complements our own philosophies”.

Undoubtedly, Alia Bastamam represents one of the perfect examples of fine tailoring and sharp cut designed dresses in Malaysia. Her Spring/Summer 2016 lineup going to showcased at the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week “Ready to Wear” 2015 event, will be 16th and 17th collection in her five years. Giving a brief about the event, Alia said, “I want to bring back that ease and comfort for my clients because that’s why I came into this industry in the first place – to design and create pieces that I would want to wear myself”.

All over, the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear (KLFW RTW) 2015 event is going to reflect the charmed classic works by the potent designer Alia Bastamam and the unequivocal model line-ups manufactured by auto tycoon, Volkswagen.
