Honda Indonesia launches BR-V facelift

KUALA LUMPUR: Remember Honda BR-V Special Edition that was put on display at the 2019 Malaysia Autoshow alongside other Honda cars? Well, that was for Malaysia, the company has now introduced the standard BR-V facelift in Indonesia.

This seven-seater coaster by Honda takes inspiration from CR-V, at least in terms of looks. The front features a large grille partitioned in between by a bold body cladding. Its lower portion is flanked by foglamps, which are housed beside the L-shaped intakes. Whereas, the upper part of the grille has projector headlamps at its wings that feature new daytime running lights (DRL). Furthermore, the headlamps are bridged by a chrome strip running over the grille, followed by a dark-colored plate and a compact bonnet. The bottom end is marked with a narrow bumper line that has a chrome covering.

The side profiles are sportier than the front, thanks to the presence of several characteristic lines running all along the front and rear doors. The wheel arches and the entire bottom of the side profile gets a bumper like protection, and we also get to see a chrome line below the doors. The chrome coloring also makes its way for the roof rails, which is followed by a rear-roof spoiler at the end.

Just like the front, the LED taillights at the back are joined by a chrome line. Not to contend yourself, as there is another chrome line over the number plate and even on the rear bumper. At last, there is a single exhaust outlet that hangs beneath the rear bumper.

Ingressing inside, one would notice the black-themed cabin containing black-colored seats with red highlights. Features include a Civic FD-style steering wheel, eight-inch touchscreen infotainment panel, keyless entry, and push start option.

Under the hood, it arms a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that delivers a maximum power of 120 PS and a peak torque of 145 Nm. The car is launched in a total of four variants in Indonesia, namely S MT costing Rp 238 juta (RM69,347), E MT priced at Rp 252.5 juta (RM73,563), E CVT at Rp 262.5 juta (RM76,477) and Prestige CVT with a price tag of Rp 279.5 juta (RM81,432).

Moreover, the new BR-V is available in six color options- Tafetta White, Crystal Black Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Coffee Cherry Red Metallic and the signature Premium Amber Metallic. To note, the last two colors are available only with E and Prestige variants.
