Honda BR-V Limited Edition: Features explained

Honda BR-V Limited Edition: Features explained

The Honda BR-V is one of the top-selling vehicles in Malaysia. It was first launched in the country back in 2017 and is slotted below the HR-V in Honda Malaysia lineup. It is the least sophisticated and affordable crossover in Honda's fleet, which is one of the reasons behind its huge success.

Honda BR-V Limited Edition exterior

The Honda BR-V comes in three variants in Malaysia - E, V, and SE model, available for RM 80,989, RM 87,701, and RM 90,700, respectively. The prototype was first showcased at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in 2015. The “Bold Runabout Vehicle” shares its platform with the Mobilio MPV and the Brio hatchback.

Honda Malaysia has now unveiled a limited edition of this compact SUV along with another model called the Jazz Mugen. The Honda BR-V Limited Edition comes with a unique touch to give it a fresher look. Under the hood, the Limited Edition is said to have the same mechanical bits as the standard model.

The fresh look on the design front -

Honda BR-V standard

The standard Honda BR-V measures 4,456 mm in length and 1,735 mm in width. It’s 162 mm longer than the HR-V, but 37 mm narrower. The wheelbase is 2,662 mm, and the higher ground clearance of 201 mm makes this seven-seater suitable for urban warfare.

The standard model of BR-V gets a unique fascia, and the front grille is significantly occupied by a large chrome piece, just like any other Honda car. There is an optional Modulo Kit that extends the silver finish on the front as well as rear and also adds metallic trim to the sides of the car.

BR-V Limited Edition

Continuing with the design, the Honda BR-V has the stepped window line, which is also seen in the Mobilio MPV.

Coming to the Limited Edition model, the exterior design gets a new tailgate spoiler, which increases its performance in terms of aerodynamics. In addition, the Limited Edition now also features the running board to aid entering into this high vehicle, and sidestep garnishes to give it a classy look.

The look inside the Honda BR-V Limited Edition -

Honda BR-V standard interior

In terms of interior, the Limited Edition Honda BR-V doesn’t get a lot of changes. There’s a new 6.8-inch infotainment system inside the cabin, which comes with smartphone connectivity.

Apart from this, the interior is the same as the standard BR-V. The three-dial instrument panel along with the basic dash layout is similar to those in the Honda City and Jazz, but with a different execution. The model gets a ‘belt’ design a the centre in its V Spec variant.

The Honda BR-V standard model lacks telescopic steering, a limitation that remains in the Limited Edition model as well. The driving quarters of the car look appealing both in terms of simplicity and design. The tall compact SUV exhibits a stable ride along with good body control.

The oily bits -

Honda BR-V standard engine

As mentioned before, the Limited Edition version of the Honda BR-V shares the same oily bits as the standard Honda BR-V.

Under the hood, the SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine, which can churn out 120 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm. The CVT unit channel power to the front wheels.
