KUALA LUMPUR: After launching the new City sedan, Honda Malaysia has now opened bookings for the new City Hatchback. Expected to hit the roads soon, the upgraded model brings refreshed styling, enhanced connectivity, and comprehensive safety technologies.

    Sportier exterior

    • The upgraded B-segment hatchback features an even sportier, more contemporary exterior, with a sharper, sleeker profile, complemented by new connected headlights and a new front bumper.
    • Adding to its bold character are updated wheel designs, featuring new 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels in a Berlina Black and Dark Clear finish for the RS variant.

    New features

    In terms of features, the new Honda City Hatchback benefits from a few notable enhancements, elevating its premium aesthetics and functionality. The key changes are - 

    • Updated dashboard with a new, textured 3D silver finish and ambient lighting in red or blue, depending on the variant
    • Larger 10-inch Display Audio infotainment unit (on higher-end variants)
    • New seat upholstery design for the RS
    • New Multi-View Camera System (360°View Camera), offering an expanded view of the vehicle’s surroundings
    • Blind Spot Information system added across all variants.
    • Cross Traffic Monitoring system added across all variants.
    • Auto-folding side mirrors (from the V on)
    • Auto-dimming rear-view mirror (RS variants)

    Retains existing petrol and hybrid powertrains

    As for the drivetrain, Malaysians have the same petrol and hybrid options to choose from. These include - 

    • 1.5 litre DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder, offering the same 121 PS at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm, paired with an Earth Dreams CVT
    • 1.5-litre i-VTEC Hybrid with the 1.5 litre Atkinson-cycle engine delivering 98 PS and 127 Nm, and the e-motor producing 109 PS and 253 Nm, paired with a single-speed transmission
