Honda Malaysia extends warranty to 8 years - Unlimited mileage, applies to all models

KUALA LUMPUR: Earlier today, Honda Malaysia launched the 2026 Honda City, giving our beloved sedan a refreshed look and upgraded equipment pack. During the launch, the automaker also announced a new 8-year warranty scheme with unlimited mileage, a significant upgrade from the previous five-year warranty.

Applicable to all Honda petrol and hybrid models from September 1, 2026, the upgraded warranty coverage offers added value and long-term protection for customers.

As there is no mileage cap for 8 years, the unlimited mileage aspect of the extended warranty can be quite fascinating for high-mileage customers who drive long distances for work, frequently travel interstate, and use their cars heavily. Well, despite extending the warranty period, Honda retains its five-year free labour charges for servicing.

The 8-year warranty plan joins Honda’s expanded hybrid warranty announced in May this year. The latter includes a 10-year warranty on the hybrid battery and selected components with unlimited mileage. Available for both new and existing buyers, the Honda extended hybrid package applies to all its e:HEV models.

The extended warranty addresses one of the biggest long-term ownership concerns with hybrid vehicles, i.e. potential battery or other component replacement costs.

Honda’s extended 8-year warranty plan (with unlimited mileage) can potentially make Honda cars more appealing to long-term buyers, giving longer protection against unexpected repair costs.
