Renault Megane RS 265 ready to go on sale in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: Renault has recently announced the introduction of the Megane RS 265 in Malaysia, where the model in question will go on sale soon. Apart from this, Megane RS 275 Trophy-R also made a local debut yesterday. The upgraded and facelifted Renault Megane R.S. 265 Cup is priced at RM234,888, on-the-road inclusive of GST, without insurance, for Peninsular Malaysia and private individual registration only. The pricing for the model is slightly costlier than the RM197,888 Megane RS 265 Sports model.

Standard colours available for the vehicle are Diamond Black, Glacier White, Oyster Grey and Pearl White. For an additional price of RM7,000, customers can drive the car painted in Sirius Yellow.

The most important part of the Renault Megane RS 265 Cup is under its hood, where it shares the similar powertrain to that of Sports model. The 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces a total output of 265 HP at 5500 rpm and it has a peak torque of 360 Nm at 3600 rpm, which is basically 15 HP and 20 Nm more than the RS 250. The French hot hatch can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.0 seconds before reaching a top speed of 255 kmph mated with a 6-speed manual transmission.

In terms of looks, Renault Megane RS 265 Cup styling has taken on even more dynamism with the Brand’s new design identity. The new projector headlights stand out with their gloss black “eyelids”. The front new bumper is fitted with an F1-inspired spoiler design integrated with six LED daytime running lights on each side.

In addition, matte-black 18-inch Tibor alloy wheels identical to the ones on the Sport, the side mouldings, a Renault Sport rear spoiler and single central chrome exhaust complete the Megane R.S. 265 Cup’s elegant and bold exterior.

The hot hatch is now coming with bolstered Recaro semi-leather bucket seats replacing the fabric ones, AUX, USB, gloss black trim, carbon effect finish, a seven-inch full color display touch screen with Bluetooth connectivity, four-eye reverse sensor with camera and four speakers with four tweeters. The keyless entry and engine start/stop with walk away lock function increases convenience and safety aspect for the customers.

Exceptional road-handling and optimum traction are delivered by equipping the R.S. chassis with Renault’s independent front double-axis strut system. Four-pot Brembo brake callipers, red instead of the silver found with the variant, ensure consistent braking power with minimal brake fail.

For added peace-of-mind, service intervals for the Megane R.S. 265 Cup are 10,000 km or six months, whichever comes first. The Cup comes with a three-year or 100,000 km manufacturer’s warranty.
