Spyshots: Peugeot 408 spotted

Kuala Lumpur: New Peugeot 408 was spotted for the first time in Cameron Highlands and on North-South Highway heading north near Tapah, and possibly was on the way up. We received this story courtesy paultan.org and their photographer Denzel Hoong. Kudos, Well done!

From what we made out, the vehicle was a left hand-drive which did not come across as a surprise given the Chinese-market disposition of the model. Most likely, the car is is used only for testing – You can see a Kedan nameplate there up front, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that Peugeots are locally assembled in Gurun, Kedah. So well, the new 408 could be a CKD, just like the present car. We were notified that this 308-based sedan could undergo a launch some time within the second half this year. Underneath the bonnet, there lies a 1.6-litre THP engine.
