Testing of Chevrolet Niva
KUALA LUMPUR: After performing tests, the next-gen Chevrolet Niva has been revealed. The current Chevrolet Niva is enhanced version of Lada Niva. Last August, GM-AvtoVAZ exhibited “vision concept” of Chevrolet Niva at the Moscow International Automobile Salon. Next year, the latest version of Niva is expected to come to hit the showrooms.
There are fully coverable spyshots, and it is understood that the design of Niva concept is being brought to production wholesale almost. Opening of daylight is here to match the concept, especially at the rear end of the quarter window. There is also upward-pointing swage line that intersects the rear window, as well as screen. Apperance of the headlamp and grille shape are similar.
A PSA-developed four cylinder 1.8 litre petrol engine and a five-speed manual gearbox are provided. Niva has a rough looking, and many shades are there of Perodua Nautica and Ford Ecosport at some angles. The question has arisen that will RHD-adapted will be kept in Russia or it would come to other developing markets?
According to the concept, the next generation of Niva has no similar things with the exiting model. The difference is that it is little bit longer comparatively with outgoing model. The redesigned part of interior receives the known three-spoke Chevy steering wheel an upright centre console that has in-built AC controls and an infotainment system.
